Now that the coaching search is over and the draft is said and done, the most immediate issue the Kings face is the June 30 Option Out decision for Mike Bibby. In your opinion as a Kings fan and knowing the road ahead for this for this franchise, would you or would you not like to see Mike Bibby opt out of his contract. Here are the pros and cons of Bibby leaving the Kings.
PROS FOR LEAVING
1. You will clear 13.5 next year and 14.5 for 08-09 off of the books NOTE:You are on the hook for 28 million to a guard that is on the down side, that you may not be able to trade because of that overvalued contract.
2. Opens up a spot for Ronnie Price, and get substantially quicker.
3. Breakup the Bibby/Artest cesspool (if there was one)
4.You instantly get better defensively and team speed, addition by subtraction.
5. It officially begins the rebuilding process.
PROS FOR STAYING
1. The last link of the semi-glory years of "The Kings" will remain
2. Your best shooter is remains on the roster.
3. Ronnie Price is OK, but in Bibby you have veteran leadership at the point.
4. He stays away from a Pacific Division team (Lakers or Clippers) and he will not haunt you four times a year.
5. You still have one of the Top 10 point Guards in the league
