Memorial Day

On Memorial Day, we honor the memory of those who have made the ultimate sacrifice in the name of their country. All too often the names of those men and women are forgotten. I thought this year maybe we could do our part to make sure it doesn't happen.

So, I'd like to start off this thread by remembering two classmates of mine from high school who died in Vietnam.

Mike Blakey - age 19
Ned Davis - age 21

(You can do a search of all the names on the Memorial Wall at http://thewall-usa.com/.)

Thank you to all those who are serving or have served our country. And my thoughts and prayers are with the families of those who gave their lives.

And please? No political comments. Thanks.

I've been fortunate. Although I have known and know many Vietnam soldiers, none perished.

My Uncle, who fought at the Battle of the Bulge, among others, passed away a few months ago. He was a good man.

I am humbled by and indebted to those who have served our country and sacrificed their lives. Bless their loved ones this day and every day.
