Now, I haven't thought much of Ben's season. He's been a disappointment and struggled horribly at times. However, being beat out by Pero Antic, Mason Plumlee and Tim Hardaway Jr. seems a bit harsh. Maybe its just a position thing, with the sophomores already having several young SGs on the roster.

Also I believe the 3rd straight year our lottery pick hasn't made it?

they've also got the wrong Plumlee, it seems, and only have 18 spots filled as opposed to 20 last year. maybe something still about to change?

I counted, and the 18 spots were evenly divided 9 sophs and 9 rookies, so seems it was intentional. Might have just shaved the roster a bit, which is probably a good idea. Rare that you get 9 guys from a class that really belong there (as you can tell from the rookie roster, they don't even have 5 that belong there). Obviously might have hurt Ben here.

Love McLemore and his promise the last few games.. but no way he deserves it. He's been playing nowhere near the rookies in the game.

He doesn't deserve it in my eyes either, bit neither do most of these guys.

Fact is, he was the best rookie (rookie of the month) in November. That's 1/3 of the NBA season to date. Weird that he wouldn't make it.

But I don't really care. It could make him better in the long run.

To be completely honest, some of those guys' you mentioned have shown more promise than Ben McLemore. I like Tim Hardaway Jr.'s game a lot, along with the big man Plumlee who has shown potential. Doesn't seem harsh to rank those guys ahead of McLemore. Being a top 10 pick should not guarantee you spot in this rising star challenge, or any event for that matter. Ben has been far from impressive, and while I do not believe he deserves to be in the challenge, I do see potential in him.

You would have liked to have seen him chosen for the purpose of kings recognition but I can't argue against him not being chosen. Kid has been driving me out of my head for most of the season. He has been a bright spot as of late (2 games), and hopefully he builds upon this

But does he deserve it more some of the players selected for the game? I'd ventured to say, yes. I won't lose sleep over it, though.

Yeah Hardaway Jr has been playing well .. or at least in the few Knicks games that I happened to watch. Don't know about Antic but I think the rest of the rookies selected including Hardaway Jr. deserve it more than Ben. I'd put Tony Snell in there before Ben too.

This may be positive, might light a fire in him. But I don't think it will take away too much from his confidence. He looked like he was amped tonight, just missed some 3's.

I totally agree. Nothing like a snub to get a young player to want to prove himself.

Maybe the NBA only wanted to give the Kings one All-Star slot and since we'll find out Cousins will represent us as an All-Star reserve, they felt comfortable leaving Ben off the Rising Star roster.....

Who am I kidding...Cousins is going to get snubbed tomorrow as well....

*sigh*

Well, he was Western Conference rookie of the Month, and you'll notice that the only Western Conference rookies that made the team over him were Burke (who was hurt and not playing in November) and Adams, who actually has declined somewhat since then but maybe they needed a big? In any event, most of the stronger rookies this season have played out East, so the Western Rookie of the Month doesn't mean as much in my opinion.

You mean Thomas "I'm gonna show everyone I should have been the first pick" Robinson wasn't even in the conversation?

Random question: Who would you pick between Anthony Bennett and TRob?

Ben was not a snub.. Tim Hardaway has been very very impressive. I'm honestly not trying to sound harsh, but what did the FO expect when they drafted Ben? Did they just want a pure shooter with potential of becoming a good defender? Ben shot a small sample size, but he was the leading scorer with 15.9 points per game for Kansas. We're all still unsure about how Ben will turn out, but I don't think I want anymore Kansas products.. that includes Wiggins and Embiid. It was not a snub, Ben's game just isn't there yet.
