What a game! One of the best games of the year, easily. Immediately had a playoff atmosphere from the tip, and was playoff 'ball all game long. Lived up to the hype and expecations, indeed..

Bruce Bowen is awesome. What a job again, he did on Nowitzki. Along with scoring down the stretch, hustling for boards.

Cavs/Bulls was also a fun game, was looking like another blow-out there, but the Bulls made a crazy comeback to make it go down to the wire. Nocioni, unexpectedly, froze on the last shot...

Nowitzki didn't impress me. How the heck does a 7 footer get shut down by a guy 6'6''-6'7''? HOW? That dude is freaking soft especially on offense. Ron would do the same to Dirk just like TMac did last year. Terry played really well and Dallas is a lot better defensively though. I was actually rooting for Dallas because I don't want to play SA if we get the 8th seed. Thanks a lot Mavs.

good game indeed. Dallas had something to prove tonight but San Antonio was better down the stretch. Another hard fought game for Tim Duncan's jersey.

Well Bowen is also the guy that got several shots at Dirks back (which I still don't know how they weren't called as fouls) but all in all - I'll accept that argument. Dirk SHOULD abuse Bowen, even with the cheap shots. He's just a pest and a great defender.

I actually don't think Dirk was the problem. The officiating wasn't a problem. None of that was truly the reason why the Mavs lost.

Why we lost:
1. you can't turn the ball over 9 times in a quarter
2. you can't go 0-8 or 10 or whatever it was from the 3 pt line heading into the 4th
3. you can't let your opposition shoot 60% or whatever from the field for a half

and you know what? Despite all these flaws the Mavs STILL had a chance to win the game. Spurs were the better team tonight, I give them respect. I'm a half glass-full guy and I saw a lot of positives...that's about as bad as the Mavs have played in a very long time and still had a chance...

He fronts him well so he can't get the ball. Which is what he did at least a few times tonight in his relentlessness.

Jerry Stackhouse didn't put out any fires after a Mavericks loss to the in-state and conference rivals Spurs on Thursday.

The Mavericks' forward, who was called for a double technical after tangling with Robert Horry in the fourth quarter, ripped official Dick Bavetta after the game. The teams are both 45-12 and fighting for the Western Conference lead, so the 98-89 loss didn't sit well.

"Somebody saw Bavetta get off the bus [Wednesday] night and I thought, 'Oh, [expletive].' I knew what was coming," Stackhouse told The (Fort Worth) Star-Telegram.

"It's tough to come on the road in this environment and have to play agains the refs, too," Stackhouse told the paper. "[Expletive] Dick Bavetta. I'm tired of his [expletive]. It's like the game is about him. He just needs to call the game and call the fouls."

The Mavericks believe Horry bit Stackhouse during the scuffle, which Horry denied. Replays showed Horry possibly biting Stackhouse's arm.

"We saw it and are on it," Mavericks owner Mark Cuban told The Dallas Morning News. "We will send it into the league, and I'm sure he will be suspended."

Stackhouse could not confirm the incident. But he did emphasize his displeasure with Dick Bavetta.

"This game was about Dick Bavetta," he said, according to The Morning News. "He called a double technical foul like he's trying to sort it out. But he never saw what happened. If he'd seen what had happened, he'd know I got an offensive rebound and Horry came down and gave me a cheap shot at the other end."

Stackhouse said he wasn't concerned about possible retribution from the NBA about his comments.

Bavetta, a 31-season league veteran, declined to comment.

With the win, the Spurs moved past the Mavericks into the top spot in the Western Conference. The Spurs hold a 2-1 edge in head-to-head play.

I don’t like the Mavs as well, but Dirk is not the one that irritates me. I like seeing them lose because it drives Cuban crazy. Now that’s one annoying idiot.

I watched that and had no idea what Horry was thinking. Even before the "incident", Horry shoved Stackhouse in the back and no foul was called. Then they get tangled up (Horry fake bites him) and Stackhouse recieves the T as well. That was B.S. And I don't even like the Mavs.
