Make yourself heard at Thunder Game

Rain man

Starter
If you are upset about the decision to fire Mike Malone, make yourself heard during the nationally televised game on Tuesday. Management thinks people will keep their emotions in check because they are honoring Peja, but I think you can honor Peja and make yourself heard. Nothing prevents you from cheering for Peja and halftime, but making yourself heard at other times. Chant things like:

Mike Ma-lone
We want Malone
Fire Pete D

Get creative...

No this is dumb. Makes us look classless like the warriors fans did during their jersey retirement. Just wait and see. If the team crumbles and gets no where, then its time to call for heads. The truth is that Pete didn't gel with Malone from the beginning, this decision had little to do with our progress and our start and was more about our direction. Not saying i agree with it but we need patience.

Okay- maybe you don't need Fire Pete D, but I don't see how chanting Mike Malone is classless. I didn't say to boo Vivek or Pete. I didn't say to ruin the ceremony. I don't understand why it is classless to chant Mike Malone in the first quarter. Show the guy a little love...

Not a good idea man..... This was the first coach most of us fans could connect with since Rick Adelman. Malone was a good coach for this team , but I am not against the firing at all. The timing should of been at the end of the season though.... Since we are still in the hunt for the playoffs...

I think supportive Mike Malone signs would be the best. Shows the FO and Malone how we felt about him, doesn't offend anybody.

I won't be there. But if I was, I would do the same thing I would've done had Malone remained...and that's wait and see what this team can do once they get healthy and make adjustments. Not booing or cheering much right now.

This has to be distracting for our team and interim coach Ty Corbin. If we weren't going to lose already vs OKC, we are 101% guaranteed to lose now. It's going to be a tough swallow for the community, but ultimately we will move on and the front office knows that. Firing Coach Malone won't prevent Vivek and Co. from filling seats when the new arena opens.

What does that mean? I am just trying to get people to voice their displeasure.

And I'm saying no, don't do it. Do you seriously want to ruin a jersey retirement ceremony? That's no who Kings fans are, or at least not the ones I know.

Peja has looked forward to this for a long time. Vlade, Chris, etc. are going to be there. It is Peja's one final moment. It cannot be redone. I absolutely refuse to ruin that.

MIKE MALONE won't be there.

I think the most important message is that the fans want something much different from what the management thinks they want. That and not having the ownership meddle with affairs.

I think pro Malone chants or signs is fine, but it doesn't send the message a loud boo for management does.

I never found what Warrior fans did as classless. That's part of capitalism. You show disapproval. Blazer fans did the same and helped change around a nightmare team.

Agreed. What makes this whole fiasco worse is that it casts a dark cloud over Peja's night. The FO should've taken that into consideration as well.

Don't boo during the ceremony....but if you feel like booing during the other parts, it's your right to do so.

I don't see what's wrong with making your voice heard during the game, just not during Peja's ceremony. I'm sure the players will do something in support of Malone. You paid for the ticket, your paying PDA's salary, if you want to show your displeasure with management, fine with me.

If you don't want to boo during Peja's ceremony, don't, but there will still be another near 2 1/2 hours to make your feelings known.

And I'd argue you should never tell another paying customer what they can or cannot do as long as it doesn't bring harm to anyone. Chant during FT's. Chant during timeouts. Chant when Vivek enters. Boo the hell out of him. Boo the hell out of PDA too. Make your voices heard, that's a big part of why the team is still here in the first place, we were loud, we let our feelings be known.

Can be done without ruining Peja's moment. It's not an either/or proposition.

Paying fans are essentially stakeholders. You have every right to voice displeasure.

You can and do argue about pretty much anything I say. The OP voiced his opinion and urged others to follow. I presented an opposing point of view.

Booing in STA is not what Kings fans do. I like to think it's because we have more class.

Mike Ma-lone sounds like the most appropriate, and gets the message across with more class than the other suggested chants

They did take it into account. Same line of thinking as a warmongering despot stockpiling weapons in schools and hospitals full of children - so they can't be bombed.

I think you'd be crazy not to voice your displeasure tomorrow. Obviously not during Peja's moment but for the rest of the game, yeah. Vivek and his henchmen need to realize that this isn't a video game and isn't a fantasy league. We didn't agree to a new arena and all that jazz so some billionaire can play around with this team like it's some sort of EA Sports video game.

I say who cares whether your chants are classy or not. Obviously PDA and Vivek aren't interested in being classy themselves. We as a fan base shouldn't just let them insult our intelligence like this while we sit back and be "classy".

It is not over the line it is on the money. This regime is watching the fan base revolt. They are getting desperate. They started out with "style differences" and/or "wins/losses" (can't decide which). That didn't work - national media and even Popovic are clowning them - so they are upping the ante. Now it's "Oh yeah, one more thing - Malone wasn't on board with Gay and DMC contracts". This is an insult to the fans intelligence. But the regime is painted into a corner and they are gonna try anything to dodge the blow-back. Including scheduling it on a day when "decent people won't boo because of Peja".

Seriously? OK, step back for a moment and think about what WE want (I am fairly confident that every single one of us here is SICK of losing, especially winnable, no excuse to lose, games, can we reach an agreement on that?) This is a message. It is a shame it came at Mike Malone's expense and it is also a shame that almost everyone has missed it. Being content to be a losing team is UNACCEPTABLE, using excuses for loses, UNACCEPTABLE. We could have been blah, blah- and 5, not acceptable, we aren't. This ownership and this regime are not afraid to make moves, pull strings and spend money. I may not agree with every move they make, I may question the why, but I refuse to disrespect them by booing this move. Why? Because they want to win NOW and in the future, as much as I do, as much as Boogie does. Throw in the disrespect you are showing to Peja and the team that was, the one we aspire to be, and I think it is clear that this is an ill conceived idea.

Comparing them to terrorist activities we're seeing all too often is over the line.

I get that you're really pissed off. That's fine. Vent all you like...but do not take it to the example you used.

In fairness to us, the Warriors front office got booed to hell during ol' Flattop's retirement ceremony for trading Monta Ellis so it wouldn't wholly be unprecedented for most of the crew involved.

I don't care what other franchises have done. They aren't us, and we have a higher standard. This is Peja's night, this is a tribute to both him AND that team. I do not want to hear boos tomorrow night in our Arena while I try to enjoy a night dedicated to that era, nor will I support an effort to shame our new ownership, who seems to be trying their damndest to return us to those days.

No way I boo management.

I have seen the worst management ever. The type of management that takes my team to the brink of death.

This management just so happened to save my team from its end.

I will still loudly cheer for them. A firing that I do not understand will not so easily change my tune.
