Most Mocks have us at 8th but, we are tied with NY and Char until the tie breakers are done today. I will be looking for the official results all day and will post ASAP. As far as ESPN goes we have been 8th on thiers since Wednesday.

The Lottery watch thread in the personnel moves forum is long and hairy, so it's hard to find, but it looks like the Kings tied with two other teams for positions 8, 9 and 10.

This apparently means that the ping pong ball combinations for spots 8, 9 and 10 will all be combined and distributed among those three teams equally. So the Kings, Bobcats and Bulls will all have an equally likely shot at the top three picks.

If the Kings don't get one of the top three picks (and the Bobcats and/or Bulls also don't), then there is a random draw to determine which order those (two or) three teams will draft in. That is what is happening in an hour or two on NBATV.

Somebody please correct me if I'm wrong.

you are right. There is a coin flip today to determine the tie breaker. So that if we are not 1 of the first 3 picks what pick we will have 8th, 9th, or 10th. Same goes for the other 2 teams we are tied with.

You are pretty much right. All 3 teams will have basically the same shot at a top 3 pick...the drawing today will determine what order they draft if they don't get in the top 3.

Ok, cool.

Technically, then, because other teams with better records than the Kings can win the lottery, the Kings' range will be 8-11, 9-12, or 10-13 depending on today's drawing.

wow, the bulls are going to the playoffs and they have the knicks unprotected pick at the 6th spot. If they win the lottery, wow.
I'm not that wild about Phoenix getting Atlanta's #4 pick, either. It's top 3 protected, so unless Atlanta wins in the lottery, Phoenix will be getting the best deal imaginable.

Hope to have potentially workable scenerios for a Sacramento arena coming up before next season.

lol potentially workable sounds like nothing was really talked about.

Phoenix doesn't strike me as wanting one of those big men they may take a Jeff Green or somebody like that.

BTW they announced the tie breakers will be coming up in a bit as Stern was getting up to leave he said "oh wow" in a very sarcastic way and got laughs as if nobody cares.

Yea, but Phoenix could lose that pick if they get into the top 3. Bulls get NY's pick no matter where it ends up.
True. I'm just annoyed with Phoenix since they're already so close to the top, and, to add insult to injury, in our conference and division as well. Hard to see us picking up any Pacific titles soon, with their getting a #4 from Atlanta this year and an unprotected one after that.

And the hits just keep on coming. So here is the run down. If we do not get 1 of the top 3 picks at best we will be drafting #10. At worst #13 only if none of the 3 worst team get a top 3 pick.

Kings horrible luck continues again.

Maybe it is to prepare us all for the luckiest bounce possible- the number 1 pick. I am not holding my breath though...

Big difference between 8th and 10th- I have seen mock drafts where every so often a Wright or Horford, and even once Noah is available at 8th- but none of those are ever around at 10th. Looks like Hibbert, Hawes, or Odom/Durant:D

Well....If Stern is really serious about keepin the Kings in Sacto with a new arena....His *** better fix the lottery and get us a number 1 or 2 pick!
