7-26 from three

7 turnovers and only forced 1 turnover.

Domas is officially in a funk. This will be his 4th sub par performance in 5 games since the win streak..barring a strong second half of consequence... He needs to get it together.

Really only Fox was good but even he’s getting caught flat footed in spots, especially near the end of the first half.

Monk and Trey ice cold.

Should’ve looked for Sasha to see if he could get hot but didn’t touch the ball again on offense after hitting his first shot.

Duarte and Davion both had moments but then some bricks too.

Huerter and Barnes non existent

Not feeling a comeback is in the mail tonight. Just hope it doesn’t get as out of hand as the first New Orleans game for the home crowd.

Kings need to play better on back to backs

It feels like the Kings miss more wide open 3s than anyone, but we just throw up enough of them to balance out the %
part of it may be that they are exerting themselves on defense more, since that was the emphasis from Brown going into the season and as a result, those three's sometimes drop and other times don't because the team is still trying to adjust to building that lactic acid capacity. that can purely be speculation on my end but it's a thought nonetheless.

It should be kind of worrying that every team in the league seems to have great shooting nights against us... this defense does not feel any better than last year despite what the stats say. Keegan legitimately might be the only one who's made any type of defensive jump...
They mostly don't though. The only reason it feels like that is because the great shooting performances against us also happen to be the three times we got blown out these season. You could make an argument that our numbers are ever better on defense without counting the time Brandon Ingram went 5 for 5 from three against us despite shooting 29% behind the arc on the year.

One of the things good teams do is to have the ability to give different looks. We are just jacking up 3 after 3 outside of the Fox drives. It doesn’t help that the Clippers are shooting an insane percentage from 3 and getting shooters rolls on shots inside the arc but dang. I assumed 1-1 for this back to back against two tough teams.but it can’t be a 15 plus point blowout
I haven't been able to watch as many games this year vs last few years. What do you think it is? Is it Barnes' regression? Is it fatigue or laziness?

may be time to pull the starters early in this one, 2 back to back 20+ point comebacks? highly unlikely scenario
I mean it's POSSIBLE to come back when you think that they only need to get 10 more points than the Clippers in the 3rd and 10 in the 4th. Normally you would think that's totally manageable, but unlike last night, I don't think the Kings have the energy to make that happen tonight.......I would love to be proven wrong though.

Sabonis playing out of his character in my opinion. Barnes and Mitchell need to be traded for better defenders. The Kings lack size. They're just having a hard time stopping anybody and it's too easy for the other team to score. It's hard to watch because it's helpless and even against GS it was hard. GS struggled with making shots is the reason we won but also turnovers. But if we constantly have to depend on team to miss and self defeat for us to have a chance...then it is a long night.

It's another version of last year too. The Kings actually aren't that bad in the paint with Domas, however up to this point they're still bottom 7 in opponent 3 point percentage.

Can’t understand the game today , players are selfish and looking to make the point , but are totally out of doing it …
Vezenkov scored his first , then he had 3/4 open looks , but none to pass him
You see way down in result you subs shooter with defende (Sasha to Edward’s )
Lyels is out of magic it seems
Sorry for an all back ups of Mitchel but this guy HAS to go out …
Sabonis is in low performance mode …
If monk and fox did not do something to keep that one close will be ugly game

Just found the stat to back up my earlier comment. In terms of WIDE open 3pt shots (no defender within 6+ ft), the Kings have the 4th WORST shooting percentage at just 36%. Only Toronto, Memphis, and Portland are worse than us.

To contrast that, Brooklyn leads the league at 46.2% followed by Miami at 43.1%. There are 14 total NBA teams who shoot 39% or better on wide open 3s.

Terrible.

I'll say it again. Move Barnes to the 2nd unit, where he's forced to shoot more. It will help his game and the team
It could work but the issue is always that Barnes will try and fit in. Turning him into the new Carl Landry/Corliss Williamson is well within his skill set but he's too much of an in the flow type of player.

More than anything though, this just points to an eventual progression to the mean from the Kings though unless you assume that our guys are going to continue to be great at shooting with guys in their face but terrible when deadass open

i think its partially on Brown. He drills it in their heads that if you are open “let it fly”. Typically a good thing but you can sense when things are not going well, I’d like to see them go to a different look like they do on defense. I don’t see as many adjustments on the offensive end.

It’s also with noting that we are 10-6 and most of our wins we shot less than 35 percent from 3 as a team

The next question is whether the other team is forcing those wide open shots to spots on the floor the Kings aren't comfortable shooting.

It's somewhat reassuring that they are shooting a low percentage on quality shots as this may imply we are actually better than our record.

It could also mean we just don't have the legs or collectively are not in the right headspace.

Do they have an equivalent opponent stat?
