Latest rumor about Bonzi

Since we now finally have some movement on the Harrington deal(it should be done today according to Marc Stein at ESPN) I think we will hear something on the Bonzi front and I really think there is some truth to the Bonzi to Indiana for Foster and Jasike.....whatever.

Here me out on this. If Indiana trades Foster and Jas to us and give Bonzi a starting salary of whatever it takes to make the trade work(probably around 8-8.2 million it will put them right up over the luxury tax and with a little manuevering they can get under it. If they keep Foster and Jas... with the Harrington deal it puts them about 2 mill over the projected level.

I think this is what has been holding this deal up and once Harrington is done the other pieces will fall in place. It has been way to quiet so far and we haven't heard a peep in regards to Bonzi except the Indiana scenario.

Makes sense. There is little left out there now and this provides two pieces we need. Sarunas would likely dump Hart and Foster for Bonzi keeps our cap situation about the same.

I couldn't cut and paste it but in his chat today Marc Stein said the Kings are interested in a shot blocker but, from what he hears, they are not interested in sign and trade opportunities for Bonzi and he feels he will be back with the Kings.

I would but Kev is travelling abroad and probably would not have his phone in the water with him. Besides, I am just like any other sacfanatic. I rode him for 2 weeks over the coaching situation and got nothing. The family card does not work!!! The only defference between you and I is I get to make fun of him at thanksgiving about his big head.:D

Edward: What are the Kings doing this offseason besides waiting on Wells?

Marc Stein: (1:20 PM ET ) I know the Kings want a shot-blocker, too, but Wells moves to the front of the line when the Harrington deal finally gets done. Everyone I've spoken to about Wells leads me to believe that the Kings have no interest in playing sign-and-trade so I expect Wells to go back there, albeit for less money that he was undoubtedly hoping for.

That just made my day. And it's still just speculation.

On big money, complex deals of any sort, with lots of unknowns, things can and do change.

There have probably been several points where people with inside info thought Bonzi was either staying or leaving. But the only inside info that really matters is trustworthy info which comes right before the contract is signed.

Just like IRL, it's all BS until the contract is signed.

;)
Latest rumor I heard is that Bonzi told Geoff that if they through in a ham and cheese sandwich that the deal was as good as done.
But that led to the new rumor that SAR made it clear he wants his locker at least 15 feet away from any pork and will not touch the ball after Bonzi has handled it, espcially if Bonzi gets mayo on the the ball.

Is VF21 going to go 0-2 this summer. Don't worry theres other rumors out there for you to break.
I posted a rumor and said to take it for what it's worth. If it was a done deal, everyone would have known by now. It was a heads-up, meaning pay attention that something MIGHT be happening.

Sorry if that's not enough for you. You aren't under any kind of obligation to believe me and you're entitled to a full refund of any monies you paid me for the information if you think you didn't get your money's worth.

Quite frankly, I couldn't possibly care less if you believe me or not.

don't know if someone posted, but here's a blurb from today's chat:

I'm going against her on this one.. been quite a bit since she said the prediction.
I'm NOT predicting anything. It's not like I consult tea leaves or count the rings of the moon after a storm.

I'm just the messenger relaying something I've heard. If you guys don't want to hear what I hear any longer, fine. No skin of my nose whatsoever.

I'm not going to rationalize or justify anything I've said. I really didn't think I would have to. And I'm most definitely NOT going to reveal how I came to the information.

It's not a prediction. It was something I heard. And at this point, hell will freeze over before I bother relaying anything else I hear. I'm honestly more than a little tired of people acting like I've made it up, I'm just trying to stir things up, etc.

Yeah, it's been posted, Jerryaki, but I still think it's funny. Marc Stein couldn't have been more non-committal. Leaves him a tremendous amount of wiggle room either way...

VF21 i think opening a new thread for this latest info would have been better... this thread is super long and mostly out dated now... right before this morning all people were talking about was the celtics??? whats that all about ??? its kinda like when all people were talking about was the bigs on dallas... but worse ... this latest info sounds makes the most sense... the Kings dont wanna go over the tax... if a S&T happens they could have to take back more than they wanted to... but if they just have to maybe up their offer a tad... they could live with that... ok so that being said how about starting a new thread?? based on the new info... also I want to thank you VF21 for sharing what you heard from your source... things are never a 100% solid till they actually happen... but this has been a crazy offseason... so we all might have all been kinda right at one time so far... ok out...

It's not new info, though, sactown100. It's just Marc Stein saying

That's every bit as vague as anything else out there. There's really no need for more Bonzi rumor threads. Having them in one thread at least makes it easier for people to find the latest one...

:)

That's not necessarily true. Allbeit, things do need to be controlled around here with phantom thread starters, i would like new information about Bonzi to be in a seperate thread. This way I dont have to guess what page was the last page i read in this massive thread. It kinda makes it easier for me to figure out whats new, rather then having to hunt for it by skimming pages.

The problem comes with the definition of new information. All the stuff so far has simply been additional rumors, hence the combination into the rumor thread. If/when something happens, it will - of course - get its own thread.

Just to add some fuel to the flames: Newest rumor is the Kings will be making a move, most likely this afternoon.

And, for the record, the system remembers the last post you read. When you come back to the board and click on the threads with the darkened icons, it takes you to the first new post since your last visit.

:)

Wait, this is a new rumor? Or new information?

I heard "The Kings will be making a move, most likely this afternoon." Try as I might, I couldn't get anything more... And believe me, I'M TRYING! Honest!!! I would love to be able to say more but I don't have anything more.

i agree... unless u can control these threads so that people only write about the latest info or ideas on the latest info... and not about random stuff like the celtics... but that is not possible so i say after a few days, a number of rumors, and 24 pages later.... i think a new thread is a great idea... plus espn is a trusted source... not right about everything... but the best source next to being a GM

O seriously? Wow, couple years in and i keep clicking the "last page" portion of the thread assuming it wouldn't. Well in that case, carry on VF, carry on.
Actually, you need to click on the little "down arrow" icon next to the thread, which will take you the the next unread post. If you click on the thread itself, it will take you to the first page.
