[News] Kyle Draper done as Kings PBP announcer

I'm sure I'm in a very small minority here, but I preferred Draper over Jones by a pretty wide margin. I always kind of assumed that when Jones' daughter was done with college he would go back to his national job full-time and Draper would get a chance to take over here in Sac, but the exact opposite has happened.

Sorry to see him go. Best wishes for whatever's next, Drapes!

I like Draper a lot more than Jones. Kind of corny, really goofy and sort of unpolished? I like his vibe way more than the sterile national announcer style of Jones.

I feel the same level of indifference toward both of them. I appreciate Draper’s fan-oriented perspective, it’s engaged without being overly biased, but I do think his play-by-play could improve. Jones, on the other hand, is the consummate professional, though his style can feel a bit too old-school for how the game is played today.

I’m curious to see what’s next for Draper. It sounds like he’ll be staying on the media side in Sacramento, and I wish him nothing but the best.

I love most about Draper is his clear honesty and enthusiasm. He never felt canned or fake on the Mike and I will miss him.

My wife and I met Kyle Draper and his kids at the State Fair a few years back. Super nice guy. Kinda bummed to see him go, especially so because he seemed to really adopt the KINGS and this city. I wish him well.

I like Jones a bit more than Draper, but good luck to him. To me Draper was a bit brash and full of himself at times (maybe more so on the radio, but for me that "impression" somewhat then carries over to everything he does).

I do think the games broadcasts will benefit from a consistent team instead of swapping in different folks all the time.
