Kris Humphries

He was the biggest steal in my fantasy basketball squad last year. Picked him up from waivers and he began to give me David Lee numbers + blocks.

He is an extremely high-energy guy with a great motor and gobbles up rebounds to no end. Surprisingly good shot blocker at the rim and had seven 3+ block games. Contests everybody who tries to finish.

Now, where he would fit in is the question. Humphries is a 4 and only a 4. I'm sure he can defend the 5 spot when asked to, but it certainly isn't his natural position.

Cousins needs a shot blocker playing next to him to thrive, as he can't defend the elite big men out there. That is where Dally or any other quality center that we will sign comes in. But, having that bubble of energy off the bench would be awesome to have in Humphries and Thompson. Humphries isn't necessarily tall at 6'9'', but he can provide that poor man's Ben Wallace like shot blocking presence if need so...in addition to the monster rebounding.

The only downside of signing Humphries is having to deal with his annoying Kardashian fiancee/wife and all the drama that comes with that nobody.

I wouldn't call that a downside. Anything that brings more publicity/media attention to the team is a good thing. Any publicity is good publicity, especially for a rebuilding team like this.

He would be great to pair with Cousins. an athletic PF who can defend, block shots, finish at the rim, and rebound. Now how do we get him?

No thanks. I'm leery of guys who all of a sudden perform in a contract year when they haven't done anything before said year.

i'm not impressed with kris humphries. he gets lots of hustle points. imo, he'd be ok as a bench player not a starter.

Yeah, he's not really much of a shotblocker. Okay, but hustle blocker not an inside intimidator.

Really what he is is a glorified Jason Thompson. Except Jason Thompson won't cost you $8+ mil to sign because he is coming off a career year. Wouldn't mind having a cheaper Humpries on this team if we did not have Jason, but as is, he's going to cost too much, and is too duplicative of current personnel.

In fairness to Humphries, he never really got any minutes until two seasons ago when he averaged 20 minutes a game. And he started to show what he could do toward the end of that season. This past season he averaged 28 minutes a game, and pulled down 10.7 rebounds and blocked 1.1 shots a game. It seems like he's been around forever, but he's only 26 years old. I do agree with Bricky in that he's not your typical man up shotblocker. He's more of a weakside help shotblocker. But he is a good hustle player and works hard on defense without getting into foul trouble.

He'd be a nice aquisition for the right price. The new CBA may decide how expensive he is.

All I've seen of him is this highlight reel. Looks like a shotblocker. I have never actually seen him play a full game. So if you guys say he's not a shotblocker usually, I'll take your word for it.

Perhaps the Kings are going in a different direction then Daly and maybe partially affecting that is the fact we have the big unknown, Whiteside, who may become Daly 2.0. I'm just curious as to the relative disinterest the Kings are showing in Daly.

I would like to have Humphries. In fact I'd like any big guy who had very few offensive ideas rumbling in his brain. He's a big tough guy who would ease the pain of losing Daly. Highlights show him blocking shots but I think he's mainly a very big and muscular space taking body that would help us maintain the oddity of being a good rebounding team.

Besides, he's the 4th guy from Minnesota to play professional basketball. ;) I may be wrong about that. The Kings have had two of them so might as well have a third. Did anyone know he was all-state in football in high school? Kinda scary.
