[Game] Knicks @ Kings - 12/10/15 - 7:30 pm PST, 10:30 pm EST

Hoping for a monster game from Cuz, both basketball and leadership wise. No complaining, no tantrums, just go out there and calmly destroy the Knicks. He does that, he'll get good recognition from Barkley and it will really aid his image in the national media. If he plays poorly in some form or another, the narrative of "all the talent in the world, just hasn't clicked" will continue.

I'm a bit scared of the matchup nightmares we are going to face in this game.
Do we try to go big? That would put Cousins outside against a 7'3 Porzingis, who is very mobile.
Do we try to play our usual starting 5? Gay against Porzingis? That's a huge size differential.
And than you add the ultimate tweener SF/PF and one of the best scorers in the game.

On paper we should be able to beat the Knicks. But somehow I'm worried.
Really wish Willie would be healthy.

You'll be mad that we were so close yet so far from getting him. Seriously

For real. Vlade wanted him too.

Dude is the real deal. Out-Dirked Dirk when they played The Mavs. Insanely high potential on offense, no slouch on defense either (just as good a shot blocker as WCS, better rebounder, though I don't think he's as versatile a defender).

Funny that those NY dum dums boo'd the pic. Also funny that Stephen A. Smith made a fool out of himself blasting the pic.

As another beleaguered franchise, I'm happy for Knicks fans.

That being said, I hope Porz has a crap game and we beat them by twenty.

Go Kings!

When in doubt, go to small ball

Porzingis will have a career night, you can almost count on it. Boogie in no way shape or form should take this guy lightly...he has length to disrupt what Boogie will try to do. He needs to punish this kid in the post...he is rail thin. Barkley doing the game? ugh....hopefully word doesn't get out that when he says anything negative about Boogie on live TV that he will be waiting for him post game.

Actually, for all of Barkley's rough edges, I find him entertaining most of the time and actually knowledgeable about the game, much more so than Shaq, for example. While he is not what you call polished, I don't mind him as much as most. He understands the game, and maybe he is tough on Boogie because he knows what Boogie can be, and perhaps should be, but limits himself due to the attitude (which is definitely true).

I'll be really surprised if the Knicks won't play Robin on Cousins most of the time, Kristaps is way to thin to handle DMC (he does have enough length to bother him though).

Knicks will be on a back-to-back, we should have a good chance winning this one.

sound familiar?

It was that same prep game when Boogie's rift with Barkley blossomed. As Charles explained in Bucher's piece, he went down to see his fellow Alabaman play, only to witness: "Cousins complained to referees incessantly, fouled out and picked up a couple of technical fouls in the process." Afterwards, Barkley dubbed the effort "very disappointing. I'd never seen him play in person. I was excited to see him. But he didn't do anything to dominate the game in any way. He's big. But big don't work in college or the pros."

then Boogie goes out and says the following...

"I have no respect for you and I never will. We have nothing to talk about. So, yes, every time we see each other, there will never be words."

...

"Coming up as a kid and hearing that from one of the best players ever to come out of Alabama," Cousins said, "a guy people grow up looking up to, to hear him say, 'Well, he's not that good...' I remember it like it was yesterday. Then, coming into my rookie season, you take up for your ex-coach and say I'm the worst thing that ever happened to Sacramento on national TV. Yeah, I'm going to remember."

Boogie is so hard headed and stubborn that even if a HOF were to sit him down and tell him he needs to tone it down and change for the betterment of the team and himself...he would take it the wrong way anyway. That's why he is his own worst enemy and will be until proven otherwise.

Robin takes up a lot of room...Boogie will probably work from the perimeter until they put someone else on him and then go in the post.

Boogie has always destroyed Robin Lopez. As in epic level destroyed Robin Lopez.

But that was with LMA as the other big rather than Porzingis. It would help to either get the kid in quick foul trouble, or for Karl to start the two bigs alongside each other to give the Knicks some beef to match up against.

I say keep the lineup as is, let Porzingis have to match up with Gay, that could get him in foul trouble. They are about the same weight anyways, at worst you are going to give up fadeaway jumpers. If you play Koufos on him Porzingis will go off with his mobility and ability to stretch the floor.

Koufos and Cousins playing together just clogs the paint too much and gets Cousins jacking up jump shots again...I see Casspi starting once again.

See I don't ever recall Barkley saying that Cousins was the worst thing to happen to Sacramento. But oh well ... Cousins will always have this ego and unwillingness to learn from great players in the game, he will always hold grudges like a child and throw tantrums whenever he wants. But all that doesn't matter as long as he's producing on the court at a high level, and certainly having the narrative on him change will aid him in truly reaching superstar status. It's all about public perception, and when the media believes you're a superstar and a good guy all of a sudden it no longer feels like the whole world is out to get you. In a perfect world Cousins would just humble himself and go make amends with Barkley, but since that's not happening I'll settle for Cousins just playing really well on national TV and giving them only good things to say.

Casspi may continue to start and try to race them to the basket for every position.
Karl won't even worry about the Porz matchup, because he don't care much about defense.
He'll only make sure someone's running when Boogie got the defensive rebound on an opponent's missed shot.

There are two ends of the court. Once you've seen Porzingis with your own eyes you'll understand the difficulty. When your opponent starts a 7'3" PF....smallball at your extreme peril.

If we had WCS, yes thats a clear good matchup to put on Porzingis. Koufos will be eaten alive though, he is too slow and will give up open jumpers left and right. Gay at least can stay on Porzingis and most importantly can go at him on the other end. Make Porzingis have to guard Rudy on the perimeter I say.

Well the Knicks are down by 25 at halftime to Utah. Kristaps has 4 pts 2 reb

He's a rookie, so he's like a box of chocolates, but don't let one down game confuse you. Dude scored 28 last time out vs. Dallas. Has had games of 29-11, 24-14 (with 7 blocks!), 20-14...you just hope he's having a down game rather than an up one.

Porzingis gets almost any shot he wants against defenders better than Rudy. It's just a matter of if he's hitting them on any given night.

And I expect a good game from him tomorrow as this is arguably hs worst of the year tonight. Remember, he's not a typical rook. Been a pro for years. Knows how to bounce back.
