Kingsfans mock draft. You be the GM.. Multi-person mock draft.

Ok this was really tough but I think my best choice would be Jarred Bayless. I know he's not a true pg,(wich Seattle needs) but I think he can learn to be one

With Fifth pick of the 2008 NBA Draft, the Memphis Grizzlies select...

Kevin Love out of UCLA

Last season, the Grizzlies might have put together the most putrid frontcourt in NBA History. Bust city starters Kwame Brown and Darko Milicic, scrub backups like Jason Collins, it was clear an upgrade was needed here.

man after doing some research on washington, i noticed theyre basically in our shoes...but with a crappier pick. so thats one bright side for us the kings have the 12th pick instead of the 18th. capt factorial...pressures on with that golden pick. dont blow it :p

Am loving the rationale you all are using for your picks.. When our heads all think as one we are unstoppable! :D

One of the reasons I did this was to see how close we could be to the real draft. I have a feeling we will be as close if not closer then a lot of the mock sites.

Well, I had my selection ready, but mas tarde, I guess. I have to go to immigration tomorrow for some business in the morning, so I'll check back as soon as I get home.

ok Purple Reign has about 2 hours to make his pick :) Will anyone be around in about two hours that wants to fill in for that pick if Purple Reign doesn't show up?

Not exactly. They have their superstar-caliber player, and 2 very nice compliments to him (assuming they re-sign Arenas and Jamison). Plus they're in the East

Well I'll be available, but I don't want to hog up the draft board.

I'm Sorry it Took So Long

With the sixth pick, the New York Knicks selecte RUSSELL WESTBROOK, from the University of California at Los Angeles.:D

I'll be more timely with my next pick.

Hey, sorry. I was monitoring all day and the minute I go out to my garden my turn comes up.

With the seventh pick in the 2008 draft, the L. A. Clippers select. Eric Gordon.

The Clips need a lot of help, and with the unsure situation of Maggette and Livingston. They need someone who can score and maybe play a little pt at times.

I had PM'd Amory. I will give him until 7pm pst to reply or pick. He hasn't logged into the site since Sunday, so his pick might have to be given to someone else.

If anyone that hasn't got a pick want to make the pick at 7pm (if Amory doesn't) feel free to. First person to get their pick in at 7pm I will record it :)

It's Charlotte's #9 pick.

With the 8th pick in the 2008 NBA draft, the Milwaukee Bucks select........

Brook Lopez.

This is a case where talent drops about as far as it can before someone says to themselves (the hell with getting the SF we need... Let's get an insurance policy in case a big doesn't work out). Lopez has to be one of the top bigs in the draft as shown by his good play against another top big in Love.

There is always a chance that Milwaukee can play Yi at SF as well.. Redd can also play some SF. I just couldn't pass on the talent that slipped this far in Lopez.

OK since Amory isn't around someone please make the pick for him.. Anyone can.. First to get it in gets the pick.

with the 9th pick in the 2008 draft the Charlotte Bobcats select Anthony Randolph.

Too much upside to let slip away considering their lack of an interior offense.

Thanks! If you want to take Amory's other picks then by all means! I don't think he will log on before Thurs.

what i meant by the same situation was based on the fact arenas opted out and jamison is a free agent. so i think they should look for a pg as well as a pf incase they cant resign both.

With the 10th pick in the 2008 NBA Draft, the New Jersey Nets select...

Danilo Gallinari from Italy

Seriously considered taking DeAndre Jordan here to fill a need at the C position down the line and a little defense right now, but I think Kiki will take BPA and the nets have been linked to Gallinari in many reports and some even suggest he has a promise here. The only player that would get NJ to pass on Gallinari is probably Brook Lopez. They need more offense at the 4/5 spots than a lengthy/athletic project; they'd rather try getting an offensive big with the 21st pick in this scenario. Personally I'm not big on Gallinari, I think he lacks the necessary speed and quickness to be a top level SF and lacks the rebounding to have enough versatility to play the 4. That being said he should still be a solid starter in the league that could put up Hedo type numbers, but he's going to have to improve his 3 pt shooting (which won't be too difficult for him to do), rebounding and add some post moves. This may push NJ into being a little more aggressive in moving Jefferson or Carter this offseason since Gallinari is the type of prospect that would like to get 20+ minutes in his rookie season. Gallinari does give them a good shooter who can create for his teammates and help with their offense in the halfcourt since Harris isn't a true blue facilitator and mostly works best in transition driving & kicking.

With the 11th pick in the draft, Indiana selects D.J. Augustin.

Indiana needs a pt guard so this is an easy pick. They get the player that they hoped would drop to them.

I'm not participating but still enjoying the play GM's. Westbrook is a combo guard and so is Chalmers - so one "PG" is still left for Kings.

I don't know what I'd do probably preferring to trade down. Maybe Hibbert just as a huge body to throw up against Oden, Bynum and the like in WC.

well westbrook is gone and i think chalmers is kinda a reach at 12...but not at #18 so nobody get any ideas haha. yeah the ability to trade up or down would make this alil more fun, but i think its hard enough just to get everyone to pick in time. trust me, i know cuz i was the first to slow everyone down :D anyways there are times when we could use replacement GMs so feel free to pm gary and join in

I will try, but you can skip me if I'm not here too. Would not be offended, I have a 1 year old kid and she can get nosey

i always wonder why we dont just buy a pick, like the years we didnt have a second rounder or like this year when the draft is fairly deep. is the price too steep for the maloofs?

Probably. But Paul Allen's pockets are the size of Jupiter's big red spot. I really hate that rule, it gives big market teams an advantage over smaller ones (or those with multi billion dollar owners).

If we're not careful, the Blazers might end up buying the entire first round.

P.S. I get off of class at around 12:00 pm tomorrow, so I'll make the Blazer's pick then.

"With the 12th pick in the 2008 NBA draft, the Sacramento Kings select Joe Alexander out of West Virginia!

The Kings first and foremost need is at PG, where they have no players currently under contract. However, you simply can't draft a solid player for need while passing up a potential star - a potential that Joe Alexander has. He's a very good athlete and apparently had a strong workout for Sacramento. The Kings select Alexander and begin to seriously look at trade offers for Ron Artest. Ideally, Artest and Kenny Thomas could net an expiring Lamar Odom (and a 2009 late first rounder?). Odom could in turn be dealt at the deadline for more picks, or even a PG for the future."

Per a PM Capt sent to me. He had three choices.. Gallinari was 1, Alexander #2, and Augustin #3.

Thanks, Gary, for posting my pick while I was out on the town! I'm glad I'm not Petrie and don't have to face the fans after drafting a SF with potential and leaving Speights, Jordan, Hibbert, McGee, Arthur and company to the teams up next!
