Hall of Famer
It finally happened. A blind chicken stole a corn from another blind chicken and Kings got rid of an ugly chocolate glazed doughnut winning their first road game of the season and improving to 9-13 for the season which is around the 10th worst in the NBA. Kings now, share the worst road record with 1 win and it is a stellar company including the powerhouses from New York, Minnesota and Charlotte. Kings are 1-1 on the 5 game trip with 3 more left and the first back to back set coming up. This season Kings are 1-3 on the 2nd night of back to back games. If we take out the 0-3 start Kings are playing a .500 ball which means that we have the potential to move from bad to mediocre and repeat the last season which would bring the consistency and stability:rolleyes:. As a fan You would like to know what You can expect prom Your team and 30-35 wins - that is us - yay!.

If I was a new and neutral to the NBA I would be a Warriors fan. I was at a "gathering" last night and beer was cold so when it got late around midnight local time I was a little tired and I figured - might as well sit next to a TV and (yes You know me too well) watch Lakers lose. Next to me - there were 2 Lakers fans who were loud and arrogant as they are. The end of the game was priceless. I almost got them to cry. Warriors have an exciting team and play and exciting style. The crowd is a carbon copy of ARCO in the beginning of this millennium. Sure, they won't win anything the way they are now but if I was neutral and new to this - I would believe otherwise.
My 2nd pick would be Portland. They are playing great have great HCA and they don't even have Oden. When he comes back and they get another decent draft pick - scary.

So, now Kings have a twins towers too. Duncan and Robinson must be rolling in their graves as CB likes to say right after he yells "Flopibili"! 49/15/7 is a phenomenal contribution from any front court in the NBA and we might not get that again until we play Sixers again but it was still impressive even with the fact that those 2 guys are combined 65 years old and they aren't getting better. Now if that duo were Hawes and Williams - we would all go to bed with a smile on our faces knowing that tomorrow will be fine. If we add KT and SAR to this mix - we het the oldest front court in the history of time and in couple years they could sit down on the porch and play bridge and talk about good old days when Knicks used to win games and Baseball was a clean sport. Well at least 3 of them because KT will still have about a decade left in his contract.

Since the holidays are close - I decided to start Christmas shopping after long preparation. I had to order a kevlar vest in case someone shoots at me in the mall. Anyways I bought some things for the members of the NBA family.. Today we will start with

The game started ugly, got worse and the Kings put 5 decent minutes together and won the game. Mediocrity rules when it competes with pathetic which is exactly what Sixers are. The game had a total of 40 turnovers almost evenly spread. Kings won almost all statistical categories and the 3rd quarter was the key as Sixers used their version of kool aid and got blown out of their own building. Game was played in front of closest family members and friends as well as people who are serving community service because they weren't lucky to be allowed to pick up trash on the highway or any other more humane punishment.

AWARD TIME

TDM went to L Williams and it was a good performance which obviously didn't matter.

LW-VC went to Reggie Evans. I was afarid that he might kill us on the boards by himself but he obviously misses Jerome James.

J. Smith gets the SAR - Methuselah award. I was wondering where he might be these days anyways.

WTF moment of the game - well I will just say that Sixers back board had as many blocked shots as the whole Kings team.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Wizards are next and they are playing well without their best player. They won 5 out of their 6 games and as the Sixers - most of those games were at home against some really bad teams. Wizards have not won a single game if they didn't score 100+ points but they are also 2-8 if the opponent scores 100 pts which means - fist team to 100 will probably win this game. Also they do play at home with 3 days rest and we play back to back game.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Ron - has got to do more
Beno - too many turnovers
Salmons - needed from the bench
Brad - WOW
Mikki - I dare him to do it again

Cisco - same old
Douby - Cisco lite
Hawes - should play more
Jones - hustle was there
KT - still way to much PT
rest - irrelevant
Coach T - he wants to win and he seams to know how. I am starting to think that for what we really need - Muss was the right man.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Wizards are scoring well even without their best player. Butler is playing insane, Jamison is solid and even Stevenson looks like he can play. This game will be much harder to win that the one from last night. My TDM pick is Haywood but Mason could be dangerous too. LW-VC will go to Daniels. I expect one of the "twin towers" to suck himself into an award tonight. KT will be KT. Can Kings start a winning streak on the road ?

One of your very best yet, piksi. The Christmas list alone makes this intro "hall of fame" worthy IMHO.

I was a little worried that some of them might be harder to understand for newbies.

I will have some more of that in the next threads and the last list will be Kings only

You know, piksi... This just might be a good topic for a seasonal spin-off thread.

:p

This will be a very big win if the Kings can get it at Washington. 2nd night of back-to-back on the road against a 12-10 Wiz team. Kings are a 7 pt. road dog in this one. If Kings are "mentally tough" as Coach Theus continues to say you must be on the road, a W in this one is not impossible.

Wizards will not have a PG tonight either. If anything, I think the Kings oculd almost be favored in this one were it not for the heavy minutes they had to log to secure the Philly breakthrough.

Young with 2 early fouls. With only 8 Wiz suited up it might get interesting in the 4th quarter or even earlier. I remember an NBA game years ago when a team had only 7 in uniform and one fouled out and one left injured in the 4th. They played the 5 they had until the end, but it would have been really weird if they'd lost any more players.

Miller actually did that same type driving dunk on the baseline and from top of the key several times in pre-season - good to it see again! Maybe he has some sort of bet with Mikki going:)
