[Game] Kings @ Wizards, 2/09/14 6 PM EST, 3 PM PST

We will win the next game. DMC will bounce back. He is probably a bit ill and down from being snubbed

Shouldn't a true competitor take the snub and use it as extra motivation? not an excuse to phone it in? Hopefully this was it as far as lazy performances go, but this is the Cousins we saw on a a regular basis seasons 1-3 and I thought we had seen the end of it. Disapointing. Cursing out his teammate just shouldn't happen, especially on a night where he is laying an egg, Thornton probably made an error, but a leader doesn't do that especially when he is sleepwalking through the game himself.

Malone needs to make a statement that reminds players who is in charge.

I didn't get to watch the game but it is surprising that IT only took one 3. Was he looking for higher percentage shots?

He was able to get inside the arc with space pretty easily, and most of his breaks were in fact leakouts were he got behind the defense and took long passes rather than breaks with the defense in front of him where he often pulls up for threes. Other than that, dunno. Oddity.

Just watched the whole game, and I really don't see the IT hate. Why the hell do we always need a patsy? IT is the new Tyreke minus the high draft pick. I swear IT could not "make his teammates better" when they are shooting 35%. He did a complete circle around the key, set Grey up beautifully, and Grey stuffs himself on the rim. No one bats an eye at that. But if IT muffs a fast break he is Iverson. I'm with Glenn, unfair for sure.

His teammates, less Cousins and Gay, weren't shooting thirty-five percent; they were shooting forty-two percent. That's not setting the world on fire, but it's also not poor enough to justify him not passing them the ball.

I thought we were ready to make the leap but we were really more like this:

"“I think we are kinda shying away from team basketball and are playing one-on-one,” center DeMarcus Cousins said. “We are not running all our sets well, and with that being said, it’s affecting our offense a lot. Once we get back to playing team basketball, sharing the ball and getting the best shot, I think that we can get back to being a team that’s up to .500.”

sounds like something a Point Guard chucking 20+ shots per game could be responsible for.....

Eh, he didn't say anything that wasn't true, but I'd like to have heard him take more personal responsibility for his ****ty play yesterday. Contrary to what Isaiah Thomas thinks, DeMarcus Cousins is this team's leader, and he did a p***-poor job of leading last night.

He already took personal responsibility for the last one, when he was the only guy who brought it.

Can only fall on your own sword so many times with this crew. Malone tried it once or twice weeks ago too, but there are so many losses calling for it you'd look like a pin cushion and trash your own rep constantly taking the fall for these guys. So then you switch to coded messages instead.

That's a cop out. It's one thing to say that he shouldn't have to fall on his sword to cover for his awful teammates; he should fall on his sword because he was awful. I don't believe that he gets to get out of taking responsibility for Sunday, because he took ownership on Friday. We lost a game against a playoff team where, if Cousins has an average night, we probably win.

It was a team loss, but the leader let the team down.
