Kings vs Warriors 3/14/11 Game Thread

Can we get anybody to play point guard not named Head? Really, I dont think Donte would do any worse at the spot than he is.

We'll never get Irving. We won't suck that bad. After that I don't care all that much. Pull out the crystal ball and pick the best PG or SF, I suppose. That's why we have coaches and scouts.

I think we can all say with confidence that GP FINALLY came out ahead in a trade (first time since Peja/Artest IMHO).

40 for Thorton. lulz @ The Hornets. Hope you're enjoying your 4rpg PF!

I think unloading Ron Artest for anybody not named Kwame Brown would qualify as a good trade.

Or how about the Dally trade?

Most fun I have had all year, same goes for our boys in blue and red from the looks of it. Expect to see Tyreke back soon! Crap we are going to start losing some ping pong balls quickly!

Just not true. Petrie won the Dally trade easy. The Taylor one is looking pretty good right now too. I also think he won the second Artest trade that brought us Omri and Donte.

On a whole nother note ... Donte Greene is the fastest guy off the bench after a timeout in the league.

People hate on Ron too much. We went from terrible to legit after we picked Ron up. Then went from mediocre to abysmal after we traded Ron away. I also think we could have gotten a lot more for Ron. I mean. Lakers were offering Odom. Odom>>>>Greene/Omri. But thats just my opinion. And Omri might turn out pretty good (I've given up hope on Greene, not that I ever had any).

Also...I'm ashamed of myself. On Dally's big night I forgot the Dally trade (maybe because Spence was so Hawesome for us)! Yeah, that trade was great!

You're forgetting rule #1: Never trade with the Lakers

I am confused I have heard Thornton is restricted free agent and he isnt.....which is it?

He isn't as far as I know. Was he a second round pick? They get no such benefits - I think. Hoops Hype says he isn't.

He was picked 43rd. Amazing.

If you assume that Ron caused our big falloff after his trade -- and I have long held that it did -- then what his trade did was net us Reke. That is why you make those trades when it comes time to rebiild. Every good GM in history has "lost" those kind of trades. The reason of course being you win in the end.

Since Petrie finally pulled the plug -- whether you want to call that trading Bibby or trading Artest -- I'm not sure Petrie has made a BAD trade. Its not just about personnel. Its about strategy and roster management. Everything he's done since then has served the purpose of our rebuild. Been times I would have looked to get an extra pick or whatnot, but everything has been from the rebuilding 101 handbook.
