Kings vs Suns 3/29/11 Game Thread

You gotta hand it to Thornton man...he's been on the bench for the longest time and then he comes in and hits the biggest three of the game on his first shot!

Team is on fire, seriously, wow, this is a great sight to see. This team finally got it's missing piece, THORNTON. A scorer that spreads the floor. Gotta love it, GP is the man!

So as it turns out, its a good thing that the Maloofs didn't fire Petrie?

Hey if the Heat, Knicks, OKC, Boston, Clippers, and freaking Warriors can have a big 3, so can we.

The Heat and the Celtics do have a "Big Three." I'll accept arguments to the contrary about Miami, but the Celtics, most definitely: when you win a championship, you earn the right to be called "Big Three." The Knicks, Thunder and Warriors, though... not so much. Just because you have three players that could start for another NBA team doesn't mean you have a "Big Three."

The Clippers? Not only no, but hell no. It takes a lot of balls to refer to the three best players on a thirty-win team as a "Big Three."

I've been saying this since the end of last year. We end last year on a terrible note, and we started this year on a terrible note. We need to carry positive momentum through the rest of this year and into the offseason ... We need to get these players believing they can win in this league, and carry that confidence and momentum into a strong start next season. I love what I'm seeing.

Oh my god that was a close one. That was very dangerous by Cousins there, if the Suns had another timeout that play could of been epic. Regardless, what a bench effort tonight, incredible!! Two starters didn't do jack so we were fortunate that Donte, Casspi and co. were ready to play. Especially Donte, he really was hitting his three's.

I said that months ago! Missing link is a shooting guard, not a point guard! And if Donte can play like he is playing the last week, the Kings might not need another small forward! This team look different with Thornton. As offense is flowing there is still work on the defensive end!

Not that Walton would have noticed. Am I the only one who has noticed him not only giving Reke a consistently hard time, but really largely ignoring him when he does do something good? There is a noticeable antipathy there that approaches snarkiness.

No, you are not the only one. When Tyreke had a beautiful drive (the drive of the game), Walton still clowned him. To the effect of Tyreke will now think he can go that 4 or 5 more times, but will be met by more defenders and will still force the issue. (if that made sense). He is generally hard on everyone outside of the Lakers, but in particular Tyreke, and Donte tonight. I have always liked and defended Walton, but tonight he really irritated me. Maybe I was just hyper sensitive with all that's been going on.

I too was surprised at how harsh he was on tyreke and donte in particular. I think he made a point of saying something negative about those guys every time they did something good or bad. Somewhat surprising considering how positive Walton is in general.
