[Game] Kings vs Raptors, 10/8/2025 7PM Pacific 10PM Eastern (Pre-Season)

DDR the one guy in the game who is fully aware that it is preseason (probably Schroder too)

Dennis and DDR been looking to mostly orchestrate the offense, keep the ball moving. Which, great, that's how this works. Kings simply have to be an ego-less squad if they want any chance; not enough ball otherwise

My favorite part of the half was Kayte gushing about the defense and attention to details and drills all showing out … as they give up 65 in a half.

And of course the obligatory “Of course Keegan can’t shoot anymore, he’s also tasked to play defense!” Like he’s the only player that’s ever been asked of such a thing.

I am having trouble picking out the patterns on both ends for the Kings, but it looks to me like they are double-teaming too much, leaving a man open at the three-point line on most possessions.

Anyone else see what is going on?

The Kings can't stop the ball and penetration simple as that. If Ingram wants to shoot 40 times, let him. The rotations on defensively aren't there yet and honestly the most physical defender has been Zach thusfar.

Bad 3 point shooting teams having banner days against us was the single most annoying thing about last years team for me. Watching 30 percent shooters splash three after three is nail on a chalkboard.

Towards the end of the half there were a bunch of dumb fatigue plays on both ends of the court. On defense, you’d see multiple guys just sorta drop into the paint regardless of whether their man is there or not, leading to multiple open threes and on offense there was a lot of standing around in addition to all the fatigue bricks.

Plus the poor ending of a half we saw time and time again last year.

3 point deficit that basically can’t be overcome.
Yep. I mean, do I need to bust out the 3PM differentials again this year?

-5 3PM already. Doesn't matter if the Kings mostly played ok thay half, pretty much never winning when that's the case. And while not perfect, i think the Kings looked alright.

But it's the same damn story. We let them get hot early shooting and that confidence carries over through the rest of the game. So even if/when we play we'll, we're trying to dig out a 15+ point 3PM hole. Math ain't matching there

I really wish they'd replace her. They gave up a bunch of wide open 3s in a row and she's talking about how the Kings look outstanding on defense.

There's looking at the glass half full like Jerry used to do and there's just outright lying like Kayte is doing.

I just don’t see what Schroeder adds to the team so far. Not seeing what need he fills.

I think he's a little tired. The Kings have an odd, odd roster if the idea is defense but if Schroder gets looks he'll put up numbers. Half court D is good, 94 feet? Not sure he's got the feet/mobility for that anymore and he was never a real lockdown defender at his best anyway. Could be partly the legs being tired though.

Kings fans aren’t going to want to hear this but the defense tonight got worse when Doug subbed Zach out for Keon haha

Well he is currently out rebounding Sabonis lol.

I've never once watched a Dennis Schroeder team and was worried that our guys had to cover him or that he had to cover our guys. I don't understand where the idea that he is a defender or winner came from.
