If you’d have told me we started Frankie Fordpinto, who played exactly like you’d expect him to, and Banchero would render Keegan totally invisible but we’d be winning after 1…

… I’d call you quite a liar.

Murray definitely tightened up his defense on Banchero at the end of this 1st quarter. I don’t know that any of the points he scored was on Murray, maybe 1 shot?

to be fair, I’m not sure how much of that was Paolo and how much of that was Frankie Errorari hunting lobs instead of running an offense. The team immediately went on a run with Coleman in

Shaqueta has helped a bit

Banchero (and the Magic in general) have done a very good job of denying the ball to Murray. In summer league, you can afford to take Murray out, but in the NBA, when he's our #3 option on the offense at best, he's going to get his open shots.

He's playing well so far, just had the nice hands on the loose ball, and 1-1 shooting - just hasn't gotten open. Yes, two turnovers trying to do things that we KNOW he's not good at, but the team committed at least three turnovers failing to pass it to him, so... All this while going against the #1 pick in the draft, and holding him to...well, you could argue -1 point while Murray was guarding him, because Keegan fouled him on the breakaway and he missed a FT.

I mean, not bad. Don't worry that Banchero looked better - he went #1 for a reason.

You can definitely tell he’s played in Europe. Smart on reads. Controlled on defense.

He's got a 3 point shot too. Monte better be looking at him this year if possible. He'd be a nice cheap signing or maybe Bobby can use him in Stockton.

I like that Murray isn’t forcing anything. Just flow with the offense. Needs to get used to that. Orlando is just giving it to paulo and letting him do it all and they are losing and he has 4 turnovers

Like he said, he doesn’t get too high or too low. Fans might want him to outgun Paolo in the first but he’s just gonna play his game and let it come to him naturally.
