Coach Brown isn’t just setting up a good culture here. He’s setting up a CHAMPIONSHIP culture. He is setting standards of excellence and this wall pay off huge dividends down the line for this team. I’m so happy we hired Brown man.
Who bodied up the Knickerbockers from getting off Reb?Who got the chain?
I like our odds to get to 40.
Look, I'm already up past my bedtime (it's almost 2am on the east coast), and the other mods don't appear to be around. I'm not going to be up all night trying to keep this inanity from devolving into a flame war, so do you think you guys can chill, or am I going to have to lock this thread two days early?
I think it speaks volume on Mavs not willing to pay him, what a bonehead move. The Knicks signing Brunson was probably the nest thing they have done in the past 7 years. Anybidy who says anything else is just hating on the knicks. Brunson is a stud

You can knock their defensive rebounding, but the Kings held them to 41% shooting (46.5% on season), & 26% from 3 (35% on season).Who bodied up the Knickerbockers from getting off Reb?
I hope no one gets the chain tonight.
I'd be much obliged. We'll all behave. It's a great night to be a KINGS fan.
That is true. Our defense, especially 4th quarter/late-in-game, has been pretty good. You can knock their defensive rebounding, but the Kings held them to 41% shooting (46.5% on season), & 26% from 3 (35% on season).

His offense reminds me of Davion's defense.Just imagine had they been able to keep Brunson and still land Kyrie.
Last seaosn Brunson had one of the better postseasons I've seen in a while from a player that's not considered an elite talent.
What the hell is this random collection of "celebs"?
Dante Pettis? Josh Childress?

We can't be outscoring everyone in the Playoffs when they slow the games down, which is why it is frustrating to see how inconsistent our defense is. But being it our (potential) first Playoffs in 16 years, maybe it is enough for our kids to go in and get a feel for it first. Maybe that'll make them understand the importance of being consistent.
He showed out in SAC too. But we weren't a winning team with that roster.
Hali is showing out even better in Indy, yet his team is 30-37 and not a winning team either.
Perhaps that'll eventually change. But certainly not this season like it has for us.
I kind of like it when the old-timers weigh in. Maybe OP misses the ARCO Thunder.

Really, I think the most important thing we are missing to become a true Playoffs contender is consistency.
I'm not sure if that's completely accurate. Seems like Brunson wanted to go to NY and was gone no matter what. His dad or uncle is in the FO there, it's about as clear cut a tampering case that you can't do a thing about because what are you supposed to tell a guy he can't talk to his family?I think it speaks volume on Mavs not willing to pay him, what a bonehead move.
Which, is a good reminder we're STILL only in year 1 with Brown at the helm. Makes all of this that much more impressive. New staff, basically new rotation, new feature offensive focal point in Sabonis to integrate with another high USG star in Fox. And it's just been flawless all year.
Huh... I did not know that. After his post-season performance, I just thought he wanted a big contract but the Mavs wouldn't budge.I'm not sure if that's completely accurate. IIRC Cuban said Brunson didn't give them the chance to match let alone beat the offer.
Especially considering the fact that the defense game these days is all about "read and react", experience will hopefully guide them into making better decisions at a higher rate. This year is already pretty wide open and I think next year will be more of the same if not more so and added experience only helping us.
To be fair, they went on a huge losing streak after Hali went down with an injury. They were doing quite well before that.
Speaking of which, what will it take to get CWebb or Mitch down for a Playoff game? Is CWebb on bad terms with Vivek? He’s never around.I kind of like it when the old-timers weigh in. Maybe OP misses the ARCO Thunder.

I agree with Brown. The Kings weren't very good, which is why the game was so close. Sabonis and Monk were excellent. Murray started the game very well. Fox deigned to show up in the 4th. Otherwise, it was a pretty meh effort that fortunately yielded a win.
