[Game] Kings vs Jazz Game Thread 2/7/11

Fairly decent article. Disagree with a few points but overall fairly...decent.

This is a good opportunity to play well against a good team. I think we match up well vs. the Jazz.

Tonight, I'm hoping to see Tyreke use the triple threat effectively at least once. I'm sick of him immediately pounding the ball the second he catches it. They teach triple threat in peewee basketball camps, and it boils down to basic fundamentals. Basic premise being, as soon as you take that first dribble, your have limited your options.

I'm also going to look closely at how he uses a screen, after calling for it. Shouldn't call for the screen unless you have an idea of what you want to do.

This isn't negative either. Just looking to pay close attention to those two details, because they end up affecting the majority of our offense. But Tyreke vs DWill will always be a good matchup.

Only my opinion, but of the 4 fouls they have called between Tyreke and Cousins, only 1 was a legit foul.

Getting to the free throw line alot tonight, think its gonna come down to use hitting them. Which usually isn't in our favor.

It's one thing to have Tyreke break off the offense, and try to take a guy one on one. It's entirely different for our 11th man, to come down the court, break off the offense, and start playing a one on one game.

Head really pisses me off sometimes.

Donte the 50% FT shooter now will try to convert for a rare 4pt play. I hate that he just hoists his FT shots with no dribble to prepare and a mostly flat knuckle ball onto the unforgiving iron. Well, well he made it! And he took one little bouce of the ball before the shot - first time I ever saw him do that!

I swear sometimes when the camera goes on Donte i think to myself, when did the Kings sign Denzel Washington?

I can live with this half of basketball. Again, we're playing pretty good overall, it's the turnovers that have kept the Jazz even with us. Offensive execution not bad, and barring a few brain farts on defense, we're showing good defensive maturity and discipline. Coaching staff shouldn't have to say much at halftime.

He can say, "Tyreke, you can do other things in half court other then dribble around someone and shoot a jumper"
