This was a game I was dreading and fully expecting Fox to come out slow and the whole team to fall flat hungover and short handed. De’Aaron out the gate was so good. Hope it won’t be overlooked how impressive that was - after last night getting just 20 would’ve been a feat. FT’s holding him back from Fox Force Fifty is weirdly fitting just on how pure his scoring has been. Not chucking, not foul hunting, just playing pure ethical basketball within his game and shooting the lights out on top. Those MVP chants hopefully get louder

I just don't see a scenario where you can flip that mental switch. That needs to come from within. Brown would take him out if he passed up open shots in his rookie season, what's the remedy for his third year?

high level 3&D is what most of us wanted from him. He’s shouting 28% from 3 thru 10 games this month. This is something else entirely

To be fair one was Fox's.
The other one they must have shown it from the correct angle in the jumbotron cause from the first replay it looked like the ball touched JMac's shoe before going out of bounds.

Yet Sam Mitchell on the NBA tonight program felt the need to pee all over Swipa’s 60 point effort on Friday night because “the KINGS didn’t win”.

The only reason the KINGS had a shot at winning that game (after trailing by 20+) was because Fox scored as many as he did while also being highly efficient. And they should have won that game anyway, if not for inept officiating.
Well, they sure won tonight. Despite missing Deebo, the OX, and Money Malik.

If Fox can play like a superstar consistently, he'd undoubtedly earn his All-NBA max and be regarded at the same conversation as SGA and maybe Donovan Mitchell. He played incredible on a back to back missing his next #1, #2, and #3 guys. The carry job he did the last 2 games were Kobe-lite. Incredible performance by Fox.
Keegan.... I gave him crap for giving us 14pts on 17shots in yesterday's game when we needed him to step up without DeMar and Monk. What does he do? He comes back with 5pts on 6shots in a game where we don't have Domas. Very frustrating when you see guys like Paolo, Chet, and J-Dub transcend into stars, while we cheer when Keegan has a 10 rebound game and makes more than 4 3s.

Yeah I’m starting to come to the realization that Murray is not going to be that 3rd star and 2nd option next to Fox and Sabonis long term. His handle and iso game are still really lacking and it doesn’t look like it has improved much (if at all) compared to last season. Perhaps he proves me wrong (and I’d love for him to do that), but this is his 3rd year. How many players make significant jumps after their 3rd year in the league? Especially when your year 3 is when you’re 24 years old?
Now if Murray tops out as a guy that averages 15-17 PPG and 6-7 RPG while also being a really good defender and volume shooter, that’s still a very useful, winning player (especially at his size, length, and athleticism). These types of players are needed around your stars but as DeRozan continues to age (or when he eventually retires), we need to ask ourselves who is going to be that 2nd option/3rd star to give this core the opportunity to contend for a title.
Perhaps that player is Devin Carter? Or perhaps the FO isn’t too worried about the core after the DeRozan era and would prefer to assemble that championship level team now.

IMO we need to think of players in the context of stars in their roles. We don’t need Keegan to be a 22 point a game guy who isos for half his points. We already have 3 or 4 guys who can iso score, a couple of them pretty much at will. We need Keegan to be a confident and decisive shooter who makes 36-40 percent from 3 on high volume, defends the best players and rebounds plus the occasional mid range drive or cut. He has averaged 14 points a game while shooting terribly from 3, if he gets to the 36-40 range he is easily averaging 17-18 and we likely are not having this discussion. First year he shoots lights out, second year he takes a huge leap defensively, third year he takes a huge leap on the boards. He’s gotten better at something every year so far, a trend that started in college. If he shoots he is an insanely valuable player possibly more so than if his best skill was iso scoring.
the cold shooting and passive nature can be frustrating for sure but given his track record of improvement I’m confident he will put it all together at some point.

yeah Keegan seems to be in his head as far as shooting from 3. 95% is on Keegan but 5% is on Fox who has gone nuclear scoring but has not touched the paint and kicked it out to open shooters. Once Fox hits the paint he is shooting even with 4 guys around him.
Well I did say "start" to be fair. And Lyles is in his 10th season, which is honestly a really great accomplishment for a role player. But it's pretty rare that the average long-term role guys are able to stay effective heading into their early 30's and like beyond year 12.
In general, this isn't wrong but also.. scoreboard. You drop 109 in 2 games, you don't have to justify not kicking out to shooters and nor should you. Especially to shooters who are hesitating like Keon and Keegan are right now

Generally I agree. But as the team leader and point guard part of your job is getting your teammates going. As amazing as Fox has been scoring, and he has been unstoppable, with a usage of 47% and a team assists of 22 we are changing into an ISO team.

Also the Kings had 41 three point attempts last night which I’m pretty sure is a record for them this season and De’Aaron almost had two consecutive 50-10 double-doubles so I’m not sure how much more he could really be asked to kick the ball out for spray threes when he was, and not sure why this has to be said, in the midst of one of the greatest two-game performances in NBA history.

He does have 7 and 9 assists these last 2 games though. It's just the massive adjustment in usg with literally our 3 other highest usg players out of the game. Him going nuke was needed to stay competitive here. Like when Huerter far and away was our 2nd best shot creator last night, there really no other way you could play.
5 out, keep the paint spread and let Fox attack downhill. Was a great gameplan and 100% worked, despite our talent deficiency last night
Browns plan was pretty clear. Stay the **** out of Foxs way in the paint and be ready to shoot. Was an excellent plan to maximize what talent we had available. Along with 3 pretty great rotations from the backup Cs, ended up being enough

Consider this, if you drive in, and get to your spot, you see the shot you can take, you are red hot so even with high confidence, you KNOW you can make it. And it's not like they really collapsed on Fox double-teaming, it's just the right basketball move to exploit your opponent until they adjust. Or like last night, when Utah didn't see fit to double Fox and let the shooters open and he dropped damn near 50 on them.
Can't blame Fox for making the right basketball decision instead of going on the sentiment of "getting my shooters hot".

again not going to die on this hill but at 47% usage to have single digit assists is not great and yes we won but it was Utah.
but as you say we won and that is all that really matters.
