Hm, direct attack. I'm guessing the asterisks are of different words. There's the ignore button. Not sure where it is exactly, but I do hera of other posters speaking about it. Please use it if you find relevant dissection of in game possessions far too realistic for your rosy eyes whilst you watch the game. Now, back to the topic at hand, if you don't mind.
Tyreke played great defense on that last possession; stayed tall, stayed vertical, moved his feet, did not reach, and let the shooter get his fadaway. Got a little antsy with that half jump, but Ariza didn't see him do it and wasn't able to try and jump into Reke.

And our coach played incredible defense on Reke. Froze him out.

right?!!?!! what the hell happened to Smart? the guys were all playing so good and now thats all gone to s***! Is he aware that he had jimmer, garcia, outlaw, and whiteside on the floor at the same time and let reke ride the bench all night? WTF is that?! does he really think thats the way to get a win, throw a bunch of scrubs out there and hope they do better than your starters?
That play w/ 18 seconds left- the ball got passed to thornton and he drove the lane. Is that the f'in play that smart drew up?!?! wheres the ball movement?! we had 18 seconds left for gods sake!!!
last but certainly not least, our team has DECENT individual defenders, yet smart does not seem to understand the concept of team defense at all. we let one of the worst teams in the league school us all game on offense. i just dont understand how we couldnt stop ANYBODY tonight.
What a frustrating win...

Yup. It's not just the offense. Smart just doesn't coach defense. Going extra small while leaving our best wing defender in Reke on the bench? JT benched while picking up 1 foul all night. No Donte is the first half at all.Why even start with a 3 guard lineup which hurts us on defense if he's not going to play them together more than 10-12 mins total?
Seems to me all Smart knows how to do in games is to tell the guys to run and shoot at every opportunity, especially MT. Barely running lays anymore. Zero pick and rolls. Just a fat freakin mess.

With defensive ineptitude like this, I seriously don;t see how any Kings fan can have much hope with Keith Smart as the coach for the next 1 1/2 seasons at least.
He has no clue of how to coach defense in the NBA.
They'd BETTER find a defensive specialist assistant coach as soon as they frigging can or this is going to be a painful, long, slow, agonizing screw job of the Kings fanbase.

agreed. it appears that no one on the kings coaching staff even knows that defense is. theyd better get a clue real soon b/c when even the wins are painful to watch, we're in trouble. serious trouble

Overall a terribly sloppy game, Kings didn't even look like NBA players out there... seemed more like a D League Team.
Just dumb turnovers and no communication.
Offense look bad also, never seen so much useless standing around and passing back and forth on the perimeter. Alot of one of one also

General observation: In case some of you didn't notice the final score, the Kings won. First game at home after a tough compressed road trip. It appears as though some of you just want to find things to gripe about, so I won't stop you but geez...
As The Hammer just pointed out, we got the vote we desperately prayed for from the city council last night and the Kings (thanks to Thomas and Salmons) found a way to win a game they should have lost.

The direct attack started with you. Knock off the goading and personal insults. Totally unnecessary.

I was posting in response to another post. I even asked for clarification on the correct play. Glenn posted in response. "Can we argue this some other day?" I never asked for his input on it, and I see no reason why I need to cater to what he wants to talk about. Please highlight the direct attack that went farther than "rosy eyes."
Now, **** you IS a direct attack. What is unnecessary is asking people to talk about different things in a public forum.

Give it a rest man. He simply did not want to talk about it at the end of the game, while he was watching the last few seconds. Dont have to get all annoyed if someone simply did not want to speak to you.

I will not forget this. Perhaps you get out of knee jerk mode and replay the conversation that led to my retort. A person can get trolled only so much, ya know.

Finally, ask the poor defenseless soul what I said to him in a PM. That has not come to light and probably never will because that is the character of the aggrieved.
I ask these questions as you have publicly attacked my character. Let's hear the whole story and not the bits and snippets that suit your purpose at this moment.

I can't say ANYthing publicly - you and the mods have made sure I get infractions every time I even respond to personal attacks, so don't come crying to me with any sob stories.
I didn't even know it was you who violated forum rules and said F U to someone - I forgot who they were referring to, sorry I don't obsess about you the way you do about me, even though you told me you'd Ignore me (2 or 3 times) so I wouldn't get any more of your replies.
And if you want to talk about PM's, why didn't you leave the boards like you told me you were going to?
If you want to help me, than put me on Ignore so I don't have to absorb more abuse from you.

Yep, exactly where you said it was.
I kept looking and focusing on the "F U" part and kept missing your name.
I probably would have mentioned your name if I'd noted it - then again, maybe I wouldn't have, since I've (absurdly) gotten infractions for actually naming a name instead of being generic in my referrals before, so maybe I deliberately didn't mention you by name.
I'm confused , now - Why is it being you more relevant than the fact cussing is being allowed and people are calling out the victim again?
You should probably PM me to show me where I have attacked your character, or even said one word against you, because I'm seriously not recalling. I do remember you attacking my posts ever since you dissed me in PM, washing your hands of me.

Glenn, it's most certainly not all your fault. My issue with you responding to me was that you asked me not to talk about it, when it wasn't directed at you in the first place. Basically, I believed you had no right to ask me to talk about something else in the game thread, since his shot came in the game. I didn't bring it up when was on the bench or something like that. People make idiotic posts and threads all day long (in my view, of course). For the most part, I ignore what some uppity folk might call "beneath me." You could have done the same. The game thread is, by convention, the most branched thread here. There are multiple topics at once. I don't tell people what topic can or cannot be addressed. You may not wnat to see it. Again, use ignore. I, likewise, have contrary opinions to a lot of folk here. If I view it as valid theory/logic, I might debate with that. If it's baseless, I'll ask myself how these people were able to get on the internet in the first place, and find something else. You pushed a button of mine. I responded condescendingly. You blew past the line, to which I called you out on. For some reason, I got cussed at and lost 2 infraction points (whatever they are) in this fracas.
While I may seem like a Tyreke detractor, if you want to review my post history, you might come to a different conclusion; I critique equally and with equal vigor. I critique more than I praise, but I do priase when praise is warranted. I ask of my kings players only what they are capable of, what their ___ given talents are capable of. When this does not happen, I critique. I critique things that are correctable. Some always see half full, some see half empty. I see the milk carton sitting next to the damn glass and ask why didn't you just fill it up all the way in the first place. This grates on people. Jordan infamously grated on people, but he was the best because he demanded so much of himself. I just wish my kings players demanded more of themselves.
