With the worst record in the league dont we get only a 25% chance at the #1 pick? People are acting like its a given that we'll get it if we finish last in the league.

That's not really that iimportant this year -- there is no Shaq to draft. But you get the worst record, you are guaranteed to pick no worse than 4th, no matter how bad things go. And that IS critical in a draft this weak. There may not be more than 2 or 3 impact guys in this draft, and if you are drafting #7 you are probably just screwed.

Btw, the Kings are cursed enough to the point where we won't get the #1 pick. With our luck we'll end up with the 4'th pick.
Through 1990-2003 the number 4 pick was a very bad thing with the best plays picked at that spot being Rasheed Wallace, Dikembe Mutombo, Eddy Curry (yes Eddy Curry), and Stephon Marbury. However in the last five years the trend has apparently changed with these 5 players being picked.

Chris Paul
Chris Bosh
Tyrus Thomas
Mike Conley
Russel Westbrook

Now Thomas and Conley aren't the best of players right now, but both have them have showed promise of living up to potential this season, espeically Conly, who we just saw light us up. Now I don't know about you but the number 4 pick doesn't look so bad. Yes this is a weak draft but you never know. However chances are we get 1-3 and I don't think i need to make a list of the good players taken at those spots.
