[Game] Kings vs. Grizzlies, 2/14/21, 7pm PST, 10pm EST

Wtf is a motion offense anyway? Luke doesn’t even do that right. We’ve been seeing this high post dribble handoff crap fail for the last 15 years. Is that a Sacramento requirement or something

The dribble handoff isn't the problem tonight, it's been running G's and F's off screens through the horns back up to the ball. Anything that's primary option is off the ball is motion for Luke. They have two terrific on ball play creators and one of the best catch and shoot guards in the game. Not to mention shooting and athletic bigs. Running plays off the ball as a primary option while your star waits is STUPID. They had a great thing going where shots were created for those same players while giving said star true triple threat options. This is a problem when you have a coach with some ties to Phil Jackson. Even Phil got his *** kicked out of the chair trying to jackhammer a motion set into a team not too dissimilar to this one.

Crazy.

Oof. I picked the right day to join. Basic thoughts I already had and can confirm for posterity: ditch Walton, Hield, Bagley obviously. No reason to prop up Vivek and McNair at all at this point. No more grace periods this late in the ownership, regardless of hire recency. Better be significant moves. Now. PS the Fox extension was idiotic, but I enjoy watching him play often and he’s better than so many.

And this is why running this offense at the start is critical. As mentioned many times the Kings weren't blowing teams out from the start. They have to keep games tight early because now they're just playing even. Better but even.
