Sooooo are we giving up Woodard? Is he not close to being NBA ready?

It doesn't seem like he's in our plans at all right now. He's got some bankable skills though. Maybe he's one of those guys who doesn't find himself until about 6 years into his career and then becomes a fan favorite hustle guy somewhere.

Metu isn't shooting great, but the kid is absolutely putting out defensively and on the boards. Incredible that he has only one foul.

LOL. this is a team that hasn't even hardly played together let alone some of the players they have out there. The Grizz eventually forced their defense up in the passing lanes especially in those transition opportunities and the Kings fumbled out of lack of cohesion. Clumsiness? Eh. Partly because of a lack of chemistry has to be the benefit of the doubt. Tyrese made a couple of a horrible turnovers but again, he was trying to make the right plays.

Tyrese is the reason why this game is close and a joy to watch.

To be fair, Justin Robinson is only playing because Tyrese has a bad back and he's the only other guy on the active roster capable of dribbling the ball up the court.
I thought all those training Luke and Alvin had given to Buddy bringing the ball up is for a day like this?

SMH, only gave Queta one block

It looks like the second block came after the buzzer. It still might have saved a basket though, I'm not sure if the shot was released in time or not. And regardless it certainly made an impression which is half the point. Memphis knows who he is now.

Ahh yeah, you're right, my bad.

For a second there I thought they had Buhlar and Neemi back to back.
Bhullar appears to have only been on a basketball team because he was a massive human being whereas Queta appears to have the dexterity and skill you'd generally assume anyone playing basketball at a semi-higher level would possess.

I'm convinced Metu is actually good. Talented rebounder, really long/mobile on defense, provides rim protection. Actually has some shot creation ability. If he can figure out consistency with his 3-ball, there's absolutely starter ability there.

Yeah but only the 2nd block would've mattered since it was on Brooks.

Oh well, I guess we have the 2nd half to look forward to.

His development since entering the league has been impressive.

The thing about him is that the move from undersized center on the Spurs to big forward on the Kings seems to have made all the difference. with the Kings, he's shown mobility on the perimeter and ball skills that I never saw him use in the Spurs system

Oh, I think he's a reasonable starter now. And fearless. Undaunted. From the very beginning in Sacramento. Offensively and defensively.

I love the effort that I’ve been seeing from the Kings tonight. I think DC’s active coaching style has a lot to do with that.

It's hard to ignore. One of the better defensive efforts we saw vs the Wizards (and at the very least, in the last 10 games) and once again competing hard and playing relatively good D with a depleted roster.

Hali with a 10, 7, 5, 1 line thus far. Need 5 more boards to get a triple double. He’ll get three assists playing one handed.

What I am unsure about is when Alvin is back, and if there'll be strange hierarchy issues.

There won't be from DC for sure, but the questions were already there picking Lukes hire to coach them. This is never not somewhat dirty and ugly with Vivek, I swear.

Weirdly enough, tonight has been the most in-control Buddy has looked since Luke got fired.

I hope I'm not jinxing it but the less Buddy handles the ball the better he looks. Even Metu looks more under control driving to the basket then Buddy does. He's bizarrely clumsy for a player who's been a ball handling guard for at least half his life.

Morgan is saying the Kings didn't play good defense??? Apparently, she doesn't understand how many points were made off of turnovers. I haven't seen a better defensive effort all season than the first half.

She hasn’t been watching the games this season if she thinks the defensive effort is bad

They played GREAT defense. Grizz shooting 33% from 2 - and had a hand in the face every time. Very happy w/what we're seeing tonight, minus the bad turnovers.

The only criticism I have for Coach Pop is that he's not very creative in how he uses big men. He seems to treat them all (except for Tim Duncan) interchangeably as rebounding and screen setting stiffs. But then he's a hall of fame coach so he should probably stick with what he's doing.
