That’s embarrassing. How the hell are NBA refs so damn bad. Man, I thought NFL refs were bad……
They called 4 fouls on the Kings in the last 51 seconds. Two of them were on offense.

And just like that the Kings are under their average. Fox is going to have find a rhythm here because the Celtics can count baskets on the other end with Tatum and Brown. Harrison and Murray have to find a way to somewhat make an impact offensively as well.

Except no one said anything about them getting out rebounded. Talking about a trend we’ve seen with them struggling to secure defensive rebounds, especially with multiple guys sitting under the hoop

awful close to the quarter. Went up three to down 6 in one minute.
7 offensive rebounds in a half is too many. It’s why they were unable to extend or even hold the lead. They played good defense but weren’t finishing possessions. Totals don’t tell the whole story…they need to finish their breakfast, as Mark would say. Like you said, they are key rebounds not getting grabbed at the wrong time.

The Kings are getting handsy, a lot of those are fouls. That one on Keegan was sketchy and the one on Domas was iffy but he locked Smarts arm even if Smart suckered him into it.

Seriously though, you have to admit there are a lot of little things, legal or otherwise, that they do to create these scenarios for them to sell the contact to get a higher chance of getting those calls. It is not a well-loved idea but that's NBA's acknowledging that as a "vet advantage" since the early days of the league.

The only thing that worries me is that Davion led the team in FGA's. That shows you the Celtics have taken the Kings out of a lot of their preferred offense. Hopefully Davion keeps it up.

I didn't watch bball from the start of the season. Before and after the AS I enjoyed watching NBA again. Now I just turned it off. Again. Utah, now - game is called not by the rules but by the refs decisions. Whatever they want to do - they will do. I watched way too much elite basketball, to deal with this NBA crap - I'm too old. 90+% of people who go to watch games life or watch it on TV, Pc, phones - have now clue about the rules. They are not fans, but basketball customers.

It's true. This is how Boston plays -- they sell calls. The part about it that's so frustrating though is that Davion drew a charge that was ignored, Monk obviously got pushed off balance as he was shooting and that was ignored. I can't deny that Boston is masterful at drawing contact but there are just too many instances of obvious illegal contact on Kings players being ignored. That's what makes it feel like 5 on 8.
Which is still a case of the stats not backing up the eye test, because the Celtics have 27 missed shots, and the Kings have 21 defensive rebounds. Like I said, the timing makes the ones they don't get stand out way more.

I wonder if Fox has a little injury or if they were just letting Davion go because he was playing so well. Only 12 first half minutes for Fox, got to think he's good for a good chunk of the 2nd half.

It's just a necessary evil we have to put up with to watch Kings basketball. The NBA has made no apology for what happened in 2002 nor will they, ever. The Tim Donaghy scandal was dismissed as one disgruntled employee run amok and promptly buried when it's quite obvious that the loophole he was exploiting was the inherent biases of NBA officials -- a league-wide problem. I wouldn't blame anyone for refusing to watch.

Speaks to how well our defense is playing and how we only choked the lead the last couple minutes of the 2nd half. Domas/Kessler/Fox/Davion doing just enough to keep us afloat, but we need the spacers to actually start hitting shots.

It was strange, Brown pulled Fox the first time about a 1:30 earlier than normal. I think Brown might have been trying to steal some rest because he's about to burn Fox up in the 2nd half like Brown did to Domas in the 1st. His staggering pattern was definitely different in this one.
Yeah, I think this is the plan. Davion was rolling so he let him stay out longer. Fox should give us a jolt in the second half. It doesn't seem like Boston has momentum though (despite what the NBA TV crew had to say) -- that was entirely manufactured by the officiating crew.
