[Game] Kings vs Blazers - Tuesday, Jan. 1 - 6:00PT/9:00ET - HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

Baffling coaching there. WCS is a clumsy player with no offensive touch nor does he add much defensively or on the boards. With him out, we had a nice rhythm going.

Why then do we not only bring him back in the game but stubbornly FEATURE him down the stretch??? It's not like we're a great team who need to ride our stars because of their fragile egos... this is a young team. Find the combos that work and ride them!

Playoffs would always be tough. As long as we get anywhere near 40 games that is a huge turnaround.

But tonight was on the coach. I hate to say it because I like him, but it wasn't just a case of getting cold. It was trying to ram a square peg in a round hole for the final two minutes + OT.

Giles should of been rewarded with more minutes down the stretch, especially considering how awful Willie was all game long. Coach is usually good with rewarding his players but he screwed that one up. That's not to say that's the sole reason they lost, but the floor was better spaced with him in there rather than Willie getting rejected or stripped every time he drives to the rim

And I’m through here if Giles go right back to the bench. Dude mag very much be the Kings most naturally talented player.

Yeah, WCS is getting all the heat (not that he doesn't deserve it, Nurkic owns his soul after tonight), but Fox has been doo doo. If Dame was healthy he would have DESTROYED him tonight. Definitely outplayed him while suffering from the flu. Not a good look.

Ah well, on to the next one!

Fox playing hurt and at not sure he is strong enough yet to push for 39 min.

Giles +13 and Ferrell +8 but no run after they turned things around.

Starting lineup is:

21
28
26
30
25

while the 6th man is

26

That's prime outside Fox.

But aside from Bogi and Buddy, all those ages are for dudes who aren't part of the team's core (i.e. the guys who don't really matter)

Fox is 21, Bags is still 19, Giles hasn't played much basketball since his junior year. Despite his age, Buddy is still young in basketball years

Im down for a willie trade. Hes got value but we can spare him with bagley and giles on this team. We need a legit SF. PORTER JR. COME ON DOWN!

Well he was going against willie lazy-stein, just like adams another career night in rebounds. Easy when the opposing "big" is willie.
Willie with the 2 for 14 FGA, pathetic.

So willie can't rebound, can't defend (fox has more blocks this season), can't score, can't hit a free throw.
Why do ppl think he's good again? *Not a rhetorical question.

IMO people who don’t intently focus on the defensive side of the court think the starting center who gives up the highest fg% at rim and doesn’t rebound may be the answer (some people IMO don’t note interior defense)

Jokic licking his chops

Tough loss.... really should've won this one. I hate the blazers. I just do. Seems like they have been a mediocre team for a very long long time. They need to move on and rebuild and give someone else a change to go into a the playoffs ;)

On to the next game!

Because he's not the same player that he was last year. Random fourth quarter bursts aside, he's been a low efficiency ballhog for long stretches of the season.
Wait are you talking about Bogdan? He's carried us through bad offensive spells this year. The only legitimate shot creators we have on this team are Fox, Bogdan, and Buddy(to an extent). It's not Bogdan's fault no one off the bench can create their own offense. I think we need to give him a backcourt PG off the bench. At least it'll give us another playmaker which I think this team really needs.

About the 4th time. Fox cant guard him.
If you look at the full course of this game Fox has done an excellent job staying close to Lillard. Dame is a beast though and at times catches Fox being overzealous.

Fox im sure will say he played poorly and this hasn't been his night at all. I'm sure this one is gonna irk him for some time.

While were talkin bout Dame his FT form to me is nearly flawless. Dame is someone who clearly has supreme levels of concentration.

We can scrutinize the players all we want, if Joerger draws up a better play at the end of the 4th it's over, instead what they got was Bjelly puts up a contested layup at the rim at a launch point of about 8feet, and Mo Harkless who's extremely athletic chases it down for the block with ease....

I know I won’t but tempted to check back about the trade deadline when we have Bagley starting and Willie is playing in Washington.

If the season were to spiral out of grasp then this would be where it happens.

Two bad losses that the team should have won against playoff seeding opponents. With Denver and GS coming up. Easily could be a 4 game losing streak you should have split 2-2. The issues in both games were largely the same. Wrong offensive approach. Wrong line-ups.

Apparently Dallas is eyeing him and might part with DSJ to get him. I'll just put that here and make no mention of it elsewhere.

I'd love Porter but aside from us having more flexibility than anyone to put together a deal if they go firesale, if other teams can part with real assets we're not going to get him.

Bjeli has developed a really bad habit (for him) of passing up makeable threes (for him) for blind drives to the hoop that allow the defense to collapse on him. Ideally he'd pass out of those but right now it seems like he's mostly taking those shots for himself.

With all due respect to Dallas that would be so freaking dumb.

Porter doesn't provide enough of an upgrade over Barnes to justify trading their best non-Luka asset.
