[Game] Kings v. Warriors - 1//9/16 - 7 PT, 10 ET

WCS played 9 minutes.....9. Had 10 points. Acy had 22 minutes. We had 4 guards around 30 minutes. Probably weren't going to beat GS but we were close with Acy or WCS on the floor

Both Acy and Willie can easily fill the role of a switch big defensively for Karl. The Warriors were held to 47% shooting at the half. They ballooned up to mid 50's by the end. Still, the bad look is when he plays both Collison and Rondo and it has been in almost every game this year. Acy and Willie can't answer that by themselves. There has to be some size at at least one spot in the back court for Karls scheme to make any sense defensively.

The trouble is, every week we have one of these games where it seems like we could have won if we'd done two or three things differently. Those losses add up. The Jazz won tonight, now we're a game and a half back again. What happens if we get another key injury? We simply have to figure out how to win close games. Time is running out. We played 1 quarter of strong defense in this game. That's not going to get it done.

I just think we have one of the more unbiased commentators (duo) in the league. Yes I agree that the praise for opposition can get out of hand, but you'll hear it when we are playing well... "If you don't like that you don't like NBA basketball!"
Again, you must not listen to many other announce teams, when they're not covering Kings games. Also, just because the home broadcasters are criticizing the Kings, doesn't mean that they're "unbiased." It just means that they have a different kind of bias.

EDIT - I'm not sure why you keep saying we played the Warriors three times?

Karl tried to match up with three guards out there and all of the Warrior guards can shoot so it's too difficult to consistently defend them. I'm just glad this one is done with it, no more Warriors for the rest of the season.
The thing that frustrated me the most is that Karl probably thought, "Hey, the Warriors are playing 4 guards/wings. I should play 4 gaurds/wings." This was followed up with us playing Collison (6'0"), Curry (6'2"), McLemore (6'5"), & Belinelli (6'5"). However, the Warriors guards had an instant size advantage over us. They were rolling with Livingston (6'7"), Thompson (6'7"), Iguodala (6'7"), & Barnes (6'8").

Why are we not playing a normal lineup at this point in time? I couldn't care less that they have 4 "guards" & "wings" on the floor. Our guards don't have the size to match-up with there guards. We should have been playing a standard lineup to compete.

Livingston/Rondo, Collison (he's got the size advantage but Rondo at least has a long wingspan which can help challenge)
Thompson/McLemore, Belinelli (no obvious size advantage)
Iguodala/Gay (no obvious size advantage)
Barnes/Acy, Cauley-Stein (no obvious size advantage)

Perhaps
Wasn't this our 3rd game vs. the Warriors this season?

Oh wait 4th game

My bad

Well I can recall we were competitive for atleast 3 of those games

Before I vent about loss I got to say that corner 3 in which Curry shot the ball and did a 180 spin to Kings bench before the ball went was so dope and I don't use the word dope so if I do it must be dope :)....the vine will get 1 million hits in the next 48 hours.

Okay now onto venting

(1) Why does it always look like Ben is on roller skates? Check the tread on those sneaks bro. How can he ever be a legitimate SG when he has a hard time keeping his balance? And his confidence is in the tank again. He's not even trying to make scoring moves. He looked intimidated out there and so passive and yanked when he didn't sprint back defensively.

(2) Karl is so fed up with guys who can't defend yet he really loves himself some Marco, don't he? To the tune of 32 minutes of horrible defense and goose egg first half on 6 wide open shots. I guess at least he's getting looks at the hoop because for the first 30 games he couldn't even get open.

(3) When the Kings went small in the 4th they triple teamed Klay out of the post with Acy and Rudy leaving their man to help Darren leaving Green wide open for easy 3. What is going on??!?! This is miscommunication between coach and players because how can that possibly be the game plan?! That's some pre-season JV level defense right there. You can fault the players but you also have to fault the inability of the coaching staff to communicate and implement a viable plan. Next possession they doubled again and gave up easy dunk.

(4) Early in the season I speculated that Ben could lose all his minutes to Curry. After a night like this you wonder when Curry gets his chance? Our SG position is a black hole of incompetence and two players with a lot of holes to their game. I feel like we need a trade.

(5) I understand having dislike for bandwagon fans but I don't know how you can hate the Warriors. I love the way they play basketball. Its so fun to watch even when rooting against them.

Fool's Gold. You run against the Warriors, fool's gold. Just like running against the Steve Nash Suns, Fool's Gold. You're having a good time, running up and down, scoring alot. Suddenly the other team goes on a run and you can never catch up.
The whold F'n league other than Spurs lost their minds when they rebuilt their teams to emulate the Warriors. Even Steph Curry laughed saying it can'tbe copied because of the personnel (Draymond) the Warriors have.

You appear to be operating from some new, undiscovered definition of "even."
The funny thing is I recorded the Warriors broadcast by mistake. Fitz and Barnett were very complementary of the Kings all things considered.

I would have loved to have had WCS in the game defending Iguodala down the stretch. Karl went small to match GSW, problem is the Warriors "Small" team are all 6' 7" or taller except for Curry.

I hate the Warriors and their brand of basketball. Ruined the NBA in my opinion. Brought sissy basketball into fashion. Hope Spurs smash that crap out of the league.

This is just the way it's going to be with George Karl. We have another wing on the bench who could match up better at SF (Caron Butler) and he never plays even when Casspi or Gay are injured. Collison and Belinelli are his fourth quarter guys regardless of how many shots they miss or how many times the other team's PF posts them up and scores easily. It doesn't seem to matter how good Acy or Cauley-Stein are playing, the only way they're seeing the court in the 4th quarter is at the C position with 4 guards around them. I'd actually be okay with George Karl remaining our coach if somebody could convince him to only play 2 guards on the court at a time but it just doesn't seem to be in his DNA.

The reason the Spurs are ALWAYS good... they don't buy into fads, they don't try to be something they aren't and they are very structured in what is expected of each player. Fundamental, disciplined basketball.
