Hall of Famer
I agree with the poster above. I want Chicago. They have Snell who is a good defender so it should be fun to see Ben go up against him or Nik. McDermott too has had a nice couple of games, he is definitely a rotation player for them this season.

Seeing how I started watching mid 3rd quarter, I noticed Bennie Mac has really slowed his game down.
Remember when he would get the ball and his eyes would be open while his feet were shuffling in all directions?

He was looking to push the ball forward after a rebound, scanning the court and looking for teammates. When a teammate wasn't available, he didn't shuffle the ball away and pass it like a baby cat but took it strong to the hoop for either a foul or high percentage shot.

His passing this afternoon was above Ben-expectations.
Nice touch pass to Moreland, no assist reward but pass was nice.
Had a nice dribble drive to the hoop and dished it out to Quincy for an open 3.

Ben had a couple of mishandled passes to teammates and from teammates here and there but over all, this is the kind of Ben McLemore I would like to see play every game.

I didn't really see the first half but it looked like Ben had a very good one.

Is it just me or does it seem like there is a conscious effort to not get Nik involved? His minutes were way down, split between bench players fighting for a spot. From the stats, he facilitated well but didn't look for his shot. Not really used to a stat like 1-3 on fg's from him.

Could it be we're hiding his offense for the regular season? Or am I overthinking? Just seems he doesn't get many touches.

You're overthinking. Nik has his spot; it's usual for coaches to use SL games to give extended looks to those guys who are trying to make the team. If the game had been up for grabs, I strongly suspect Nik would have seen more time,.

I think Nik has come in and been exactly as advertised: Great shooter, good passer & decision maker, solid to good ball handler, decent team defender, subpar man defender and a little weak in the rebounding department. He's adapted perfectly to summer league and you can easily envision his fit with Boogie and Rudy.

So that being the case, let him get a bit of rest and take a look at/feature the rest of the summer league guys to see who is worth a camp invite.

Over thinking. He's a rookie and there will be lots of ups and downs. Don't get caught up in the Ginobli talk. Let the kid grow

He's still playing well. I have no problem with his game. Just never seen 1-3 next to his name. I've seen every game he's played in since he enrolled at Michigan and I'm pretty sure that is the least shots he's taken.

But like some have said, maybe coaches are holding him back to keep him rested.

This is the problem around here. Just because someone didn't shoot the ball very much, it doesn't mean they didn't get many touches. The guy had 5 assists. You really don't think he had many touches?

There are many ways a player can impact a game, and I believe we drafted Stauskas for that very reason.

I'm not complaining about Nik. And yes, he does get less touches than all of the guards on this team. If you can't see that, you're blind. Loved Nik as a Wolverine. Love Nik as a King. He's playing great. Just pointing out a simple observation.

Unfortunately for Nik, he's a very team oriented player, and when he does a quick touch and swing pass, the ball never is to return. ;)

I really want the Kings to have him be the primary ball handler for one of these games. Good things happen when he's involved.
