Speaking as an unqualified Jimmer fan, I think his skillset and the current Kings makeup are probably not a good fit. I like the new direction for the Kings, I just don't see how Jimmer can contribute to it.
At the very least, it would be interesting to see what kind of consistent shots Vasquez could set Jimmer up with

sigh. I know its terribly unfair of me to bring this up, but...

Name the 6'2" starting SGs in the NBA.

Western Conference Starting SGs:

POR Matthews 6'5" 220
GSW Thompson 6'7"205
LAC Reddick 6'4" 190
LAL Bryant 6'6" 205
PHX Bledsoe 6'1" 195
UTH Burks 6'6" 211
DEN Foye 6'4" 213
MEM Allen 6'4" 213
DAL Ellis 6'3" 185
SAN Green 6'6" 215
HOU Harden 6'5" 220
MIN Martin 6'7" 197
OKC Sefalosha 6'7" 222
NOH Gordon 6'4" 215
SAC Fredette 6'2" 195

There are only 2 guys remotely in Jimmer's size class there, and both are hyper athletic half PGs (Bledsoe/Ellis). The Bledsoe thing actually is a 1 game experiment so far for a hard tanking team, and he may well end up back at PG eventually. Its the classic tween problem for Jimmer. SG in a PGs body at the NBA level. Whether he can make it in the NBA as a contributor or not, 6'2" and unathletic is not a starting SG in the NBA.

Oh, and BTW I don't disagree that Jimmer being spoonfed shots out there might help him. But he is actually still more used to chucking off his own dribble, and the overall effect of having him on the floor as a starting SG would be dubious to say the least.

Yummmmmmmy

I just finished my first two FREE tacos from Jack-In-The-Box
My first of the season!!!!

Here to many more Home Wins and Free Tacos!!!!!! Woot Woot!!

Did DeMarcus taunt McGee after the game? Read it at a few different sites but didn't see it as league pass cut out soon after the game ended. What exactly did he do?

True, but I don't consider him a starter, or a even a consistent high minute guy. Just interested to see what he could do with some time along side a true distributor and setup man, which Vasquez really is

hahaha, i can appreciate your sensitivity, but i don't think you're going to find much disagreement here at kf.com. in fact, i have difficulty imagining a single kings fan truly lamenting the loss of guys like salmons, outlaw, hayes, etc. even thornton is consensus trade bait around these parts...

i'm sure jimmer fans will poo-poo the kings whenever the organization decides to cut him loose, but that's a different story altogether. kings fans, generally speaking, are ready to move on from an era steeped in mediocre talent. hold onto DMC, mclemore, vasquez, thomas, and one of thompson/patterson, then bring on the fire sale, i say...

I feel like Landry will help this team win games due to his superb low-post efficiency (top 3 in the NBA). I really like his game, subpar defense + somewhat bloated contract and all. I would not hesitate to start him ahead of Jason Thompson and PP. He is more skilled than 3/4 of starting PFs in the league.

Easy solution: Play Jimmer only when GV (6'6") is on the floor and let him guard the opponent PG.
Despite GV's height, a GV/Jimmer backcourt is really, really bad on defense no matter who guards 1 and who guards 2. They will get LIT UP.

Sure, Jimmer can get hot and things will look ok, but in the grand scheme of things, the less we see this pairing, the better. Jimmer needs a big physical PG next to him, someone like prime Baron Davis or Deron Williams. GV is not that guy.
