Pass first point guard on a team with only 1 person to pass to makes him pretty worthless. Thornton isn't too good at off ball movement and stands around so he isn't an option for GV. I would give it a go with the same lineup but swap Ben and Marcus to try and get someone out there who can at the very least get their own shot if it is only by running around like a maniac. If you only have Cousins out there this is exactly what happens.

He still needs to get in there. If he doesn't get in there, it screws up our spacing.

Good spacing requires EVERYONE to know their place. You cannot possibly blame Cousins when nobody seems to remember what they're supposed to be doing.
