Kings trying for Reggie Jackson? (split)

As Spike said before me, the issue is whether we can afford to wait for Stauskas to develop, because quite frankly he's been awful. He hasn't shown any flashes of brilliance the entire season, no stretch of hot shooting/scoring (Jimmer), no great athleticism (Ben, TRob) etc. I don't doubt that he'll improve at least a little bit, but I do think it's realistic to say that we shouldn't be expecting him to be our 6th man leading the charge from the bench as a scorer AND playmaker next season and even the season after.

If we keep him, I think you'll be pleasantly surprised. He's just going through typical rookie growth. He shot over 40% from the three both years at Michigan, so his shooting will come around. He led his team in assists his last year there. I mean for gods sake, give the kid a little time. That said, I'd trade him for the right deal that might address a position of need, like the PF position.

Post a link when you post these rumours.

If you're just posting on behalf of your "sources", please don't bother at all.

I don't have the source in front of me anymore, but I read the same story. The only advantage for us would be that JT has two years left after this season and Williams only has one. Williams is making a little more than JT, but not enough to quibble about. Williams is a better shooter, but nothing to write home about. I think he's shooting around 33% from the three this season. If you throw Sessions into the deal, and it works on trade checker, we would pick up around a million dollars in cap space this next offseason. Other than that, not much to crow about.

I agree with everything you have said. I would probably also trade him for Goran Dragic (with signed extension) as well.

I have strong belief that Stauskas will be a VERY VERY good player for us. There is too much skill and hard work ethic there for him not to be a productive player in the NBA. It took JJ Reddick forever to get going in the NBA and Nik is much more skilled than a rookie version of JJ who was just simply a shooter. Nik is more than a shooter.

JT for Williams would really hurt us defensively but since our FO doesn't care about that side of the court, it wouldn't be a surprise.

lol. we're f*****. cousins is gonna be traded a year before his contract is up after the FO realized they screwed their opportunity to keep him happy with the direction of the franchise. i could already see the pre-negotiations on a extension.. hey boogie~ we got a new shiny arena for you to play in! lets extend that contract buddy!

Not sure why no one seems to like JT here. JT is a decent player, especially when you factor in his salary. There simply aren't that many big man options out there that are better than him for his salary. (not including studs playing on their rookie contracts)

I'm not sure why you think no one likes JT. Many seem to think he would be a good third big off the bench. That's not disliking him just seeing him better suited for a different role.
