I think there's certainly a different level Doug can coach at too between being an "interim" head coach and having the job outright. He tried to instill mentality things, but getting all these guys in camp to actual install the actions he wants to do and run makes all the difference. IIRC, the time between the trade and the all-star break, the team had like ONE practice or something insane like that.
I think some believe we're defending this roster build, which no one really is. But I think it's fair to just say last season is something you throw out the door and we judge these guys starting game 1 of this season with the Perry/Christie pipeline on the same page and the Domas/LaVine pairing as the 1 and 2 option.
Or maybe I'll put it like this. I'll put infinitely more weight on Game 1-32 of this season than I do LaVine's 32 games with us last year. 32 games is still a very very small sample, but at least we can approach the data with some level of a baseline and trust that we're heading into the season without insane off-court turmoil.
