Well, here we are Kings Nation!!!!

We're officially going to the playoffs...

For the first time since 2006.

We will be meeting our dear friends against whom we clinched our spot in the playoffs a few nights ago.

I'm still crying (tears of joy).
You're still crying (tears of joy).
Everyone's still crying (tears of joy).

PLAYOFF BASKETBALL IS COMING BACK TO SACRAMENTO BABY!!!

Some would argue that I should have much more to say, but I really don't have much more to say....

Other than...

Well, with little more than positioning to play for, and Stockton having been upset in the G-League playoffs, maybe the people who've been begging for Queta will finally get their wish?
The Neemias Queta versus *checks notes* Trendon Watford minutes about to be lit.

(Watford is apparently questionable going into tonight's game so we might not even get that)

how are we supposed to win without our garbage time squad?

secured lower bowl seats for the game tonight for me and the kid. Now I just gotta figure out if there's any way for him to get something signed or handshake the players. He's done it for Blazers before but away teams? no idea.

Both guys played heavy minutes in Stockton last night. No need to rush them up to Portland tonight to risk injury
Not to mention...Now that we have officially clinched a playoff spot, I'd much rather save them for the playoffs, so we can use those extra bodies if, and when, needed.

for those of us that don't follow G League playoffs are they really one and done?

By sheer dumb luck and poking around the internets it looks like I got tickets by the Kings tunnel tonight. I was also able to use the $20 credit I got from Stub Hub for a late delivery of tickets to the Ducks game I went to this thanksgiving, so I'd like to thank the Blazers for being awful and affording us cheap lower bowl tickets and a chance kiddo can fist bump Red Velvet or Malik tonight.

Why just them, though? Your kid should be greedy, and fist bump everyone (on the Kings); He deserves it (as do they)...:p:p:p

Yes and no. Always good to have the extra depth if needed, but in general the playoffs are going to have much tighter rotations, maybe only 8 deep.

If any of those guys is logging minutes in anything other than a blowout game, the Kings are likely in trouble this postseason.

To be clear, and to your point, I would much rather save them as extra bodies in the playoffs in case of an injury, or, as you mentioned, we're in a blowout, and want to rest our regulars. Throw both of them out there to end the game. I would not play them in any other situation.

If Delly's out I think we really should be carrying a 3rd PG. Remember that game we were relying on RV to get us out of the trap? yikes...

What is the deadline for being on a roster, in order to be playoff-eligible?
Not sure but I trust Jill on this.

HOWEVER, there is this that says they can sign April 8 if waived before March 1, post season roster set on April 10.

In order to retain his postseason eligibility for a new NBA team, a player must be waived on or before March 1. That means that any player who remains on an NBA roster after March 1 won't be eligible to suit up in the playoffs for a new team.

And let's be clear - at this point Queta and Ellis are the 16th and 17th men on a 15-man roster. It would make sense to give them time down the stretch to help out with rest for our starters, but come the playoffs, we can't use a two-way player. So we'd have to cut someone from our 15-man roster and convert Queta or Ellis to a full NBA contract.

I have a feeling with the playoffs in the bag and Keegan's record secured, that we'll just relax into our game and calmly destroy the rest of our schedule. I'm looking for our boys to be all business to night - and probably keep everyone under 30 mins like last time. That should be the goal with the rest of these games. Get the deep bench some playing time for playoff matchup needs in spells.
