We dug a hole in the first quarter, and spent the rest of the game trying to dig our way out. However, despite that, we had a chance to win the game at the end, and we simply didn't execute. Chalk that up to whatever you want, but that's the reason we lost. We couldn't get a stop when we needed one. We couldn't grab a defensive rebound when we did get an initial stop, and we couldn't make a basket when the game depended on it. And the couple of baskets Cuz made at the end don't count, because they were give away's to prevent a three point shot. They had a two possession lead at that time. The only way to have a chance on our last couple of possessions was to hit three's, and we couldn't.
So blame it on small ball or whatever you want. Personally, I think Karl got out coached at the end of the game. There's an old saying, "if its not broke, don't fix it". Well coach, it's broke, so you'd better fix it before it's too late. Maybe it's time to start giving Curry some of Belinelli's minutes. We know he can shoot the ball, and personally, I think he's a better defender than Belinelli. If were honest, Belinelli hasn't lived up to expectations, and maybe he'll eventually figure it out, but in the meantime, our ship is sinking. I thought McLemore's defense was pretty good last night, but he needs to crash the boards more. Someone teach Gay how to box out. Hey, we had (going on memory here) 22 assists and only 12 turnovers, so that's a positive. I still think that this team has the talent to make the playoffs. Especially with the rest of the West struggling. But a championship? Not even close. As a matter of fact, that idea is laughable.
