glad to hear that Martin played well. How did Erik Daniels do? I know it's a long shot for him to make the team again, but I'm glad he got some minutes somewhere.

yes, and enjoy your drink....................go find those ladies.

I don't know about you guys but, I my respect for CruzDude just tripled. I think i speak for all when i say we appreciate your birds eye view of whats going down. I checked box scores last year but for you to see it first hand and give the accounts of what is really going on was greatly appreciated thanks.

Kings down by 6

interesting game. Need to see them next week to know what really made sense tonight.

Martin is for real. So is Garcia but he just beginning to find his way. Archibald is a big to watch next week.

Wizards-Bulls coming up. Eddie Jordan just came over to say helo to Scotty and Johnson (what IS his first name? ex-Kings coach around 1988-90
Phil Johnson, the first coach of the Sacramento Kings??

CuzDude, that was just an unbelievable gesture on your part to keep us apprised of what was happening with our summer league team.

Thanx a bunch! :D

hmmmm another international player with a chance to become a king this time from SCOTLAND...

interesting here... he was drafted at 32 in the 2002 draft...
seems to have played in Italy for a while since then and im guessing he's improved his game. would be nice to get a center since we are extremely short on big men.

and he does have a site hehehe

One final input. Quick impressions of the first game of the summer.

Kevin Martin HAS game. His agressiveness to the bucket, his incredible hang time on jump shots and overall court awareness were really good. He was 7/14 shooting including 2/4 from 3-pt range for 19 points with 9 rebounds. Garcia looked like he was trying to fit in, trying to find his game. Defensively Cisco was incredible with 3-4 fast break breakups from behind, he showed really great anticipation, very quick feet and hands. He’ll be OK but needs another game or two to get going. Has great range. Before game made 5 of 6 3's from 3ft beyond 3pt line. He will be a natural scorer.

The two “bigs” who got significant time were Archibald and Homan. Both showed promise, were quick near the basket and willing to bang and both had mid range jumpers as well as ability to score down low. Yango was interesting, a banger and down low scorer but needs work.

Our point guards were ok but Barbosa ran them ragged. The Suns did a lot more dribbling than the Kings and did a bit better overall on jumpshots, otherwise a pretty even game.

The event stats computer went down in the 2nd quarter so we did not have accurate data for the rest of the game.

I'll try to get back for a game next week but not sure.

Kings play two games over weekend, Sat and Sun then next Wed and Fri. Sat you will see the rest of the Kings summer team.

Martin can take the elevator up to the 8th floor for some great hang time jumpers.

Cruz, quickly scanning this thread I had a question about this -- last year one of the odd things about Kevin's game was that despite really being able to get off the floor, he almost used a set shot from outside. Are you saying that he has reworked that and is now actually using a full jumper? Or were you referring to hangtime on drives into the middle etc.?

The kid sure had an ugly (semi) jumper. That would be great if he has fixed that.

Archibald is a really good player and would make a damn near perfect backup player for B-rad. Between him, jared and greg, we'd have a solid center rotation.

Homan impresses me too. 2 blocks and was a really tough banger, defender in college.

If we could add Fabricio Oberto from argentina, we'd be even more dangerous.

Both. His hang on drives allows a loooong double-clutch type move. And all, I mean ALL his shots were jumpers from 3, from 20 in to a floater in the lane. Not a set shot in the bunch. :D

A smooooth jumper, lots of control, soft touch from 22 ft in. Not the same KM we saw last summer or in a few games this year. Has bulked up some to, you can actually see a couple of muscles now!!!
