I sent an email as well. Charging $15 for those low quality internet feeds of these summer leagues games is a ripoff.

From the Tips for Posting at Kingsfans.com

SPECIAL NOTE: We do not condone or approve of using illegal means to obtain TV broadcasting, movies, CDs, or anything else. If you post something that advocates illegal action to obtain any of those things, including satellite service, viewing or duplicating NBA games, downloading Ron Artest's new CD, or anything similar it will be deleted. If you continue to do so after a warning, you will be banned.

Hopefully a word to the wise will be sufficient.

I sent one too. I have Hughes Net Satellite internet and they put a cap on the amount of info you can download. It's set at 375 MB per day and a full 2 hour game would probably exceed that and at the very least end any other internet use for the day for me... so even if i did pay $15 I couldn't watch it anyways! This is a travesty!

This is a tough call. On one hand, charging money is just being greedy, but on the other hand its only $15 that I would most likely waste on something else... I see myself cracking and ordering it, but i'll wait and see If I get anything on NBATV ( I am a league pass subscriber .. )

God sports is freaking Machiavelli. I'm really get sick of it. NBA, NFL all of it. This is summer league Jesus. Greedy Bastards. Maybe the Maloofs need the extra money they lost with their Madoff investments.

Not the Maloofs. Its the NBA. I bought it and I hope it is better quality than last year. I will hook it up to TV so it will at least be bigger.

I am also. I checked a week ahead and no summer league games appear on the schedule.

Only $15 for players you can't even tell apart from their poor quality picture.

Some items to clarify:

1. there are no playoffs in the Vegas Summer League just 5 games per team.

2. $15 is a pretty cheap price for some 50+ summer league games over a 10 day period. This is exciting basketball. We get to see the first rounders with guaranteed contracts, the second rounders fighting for a contract and the FA's and invitees looking for that invite to pre-season in October and the ultimate slot on the team. But with the economy being what it is most teams I suspect will carry just the minimum of 13 on their roster plus maybe one or two put on the D-League

3. NBA-TV I don't think carries any VSL games.

4. Neither does ESPN but usually they get permission for a few games later in the week. But this year the NBA may just make themselves the exclusive provider.

5. Summer League is a big adrenalin rush. You get to sit up close to the game and the players, most players are relatively accessible for autographs and you get a first hand look at who has what game before the rest of the sports world. The Kings in particular will have 2 or 3 starters (near term or into the season) in summer league. And there are always quite a batch of NBA Hall of Fame'rs who attend the summer leagues.

6. Cox Arena, where most games are played is a smaller venue with sections set aside for team executives, for scouts and team agents from around the world (they sit at each end just beyond the baskets) and one for players and media to sit and watch away from the public seating. It is Vegas and there is quite a smorgasbord of fans from families with kids to show girls to camp followers.

After every game one significant player from the game just played is provided for the public at the autograph table for 30 or more minutes.

At $15 a day you see 5 games of 40 min each in person for $3 per game. THAT is quite a deal. If you haven't done it you have no cred to complain or whine about summer league. It is truly exciting. :D

I can whine... I don't have the ability to download a huge amount streaming a whole basketball game... satellite internet sucks like that. Thats why I need it on NBATV. Boycott the NBA until they put VSL on tv!

I already subscribed for it but the link they have for the stream website and also the link to subscribe for summer league are both down. They BETTER be working in the morning..

Hey VF21 could you add a poll! LOL! seriously!

I think enough of us could cause a little noise with our complaint letters...

so the poll would be... did you write the league a letter? with there only being one choice... "yes"

lets try and get as many people as we can to write the NBA!

that would be cool! KINGS FANS UNITE!

this whole thing is bull $#!^

They have for the at least the last 3 years that I know of. Not all games but at least 2 games of each team. Last year ALL games were available for free online, and the truth is, when you do actually consider the quality (or lack thereof) it's not worth 5 cents for such a low resolution picture.

No this is the tip of a much bigger problem, complete lack of quality assurance for the customer. NBATV is replaying the same 2 programs right now, that is a complete joke. They didn't even show the draft combine until 2 weeks after it was over. It's just a complete waste of time and it's customers deserve better. There is NBA activity going on right now, it's paying customers should be able to be a party to it without having to delve further into their own pockets and settle for poor quality in the end anyway.

Are the Kings games not even going to be on Kings.com anymore!? I just noticed it takes you to a subscription link on the Kings summer league page. No people, this is a bunch of crap! I don't even care about seeing the games at this point, this is just wrong!

It was free last year wasn't it? Or was it not live last year???

Still, a free replay would be better than paying 15 bucks!!!!!!!!!! It's just the summer league man.....

Just to comment on the quality, I was watching some of the Celtics in the Orlando Summer League ( which was free on NBA.Com ... ) and the quality wasnt bad .. They had announcers for each game which helped figure out who was doing what out there .. Im still on the fence.

The VSL is usually way better quality than the orlando summer league

I'm so pissed that they're not showing any games on nbatv. What complete crap that is.

I got the email thing going on another forum. Hopefully at the very least we can get them to not charge us for this internet crap next year.

Reminder: It's possible to vent, etc. without violating the rules of the board. Thanks...

I'm sorry but I cannot feel your pain since I'd have to pay extra to get NBATV to begin with...

In a recent FullCourtPress email, didn't they talk about viewing the games on Kings.com? People might want to double check before assuming they're not out there anywhere. (I'd check for you but with dial-up I can't see them anyway so it wouldn't do me much good to try...)

I would have to think that if the NBA is charging to view the games, that kings.com won't have it. That wouldn't make much sense. Why would anyone buy, if they could watch is for free on their team's website.

I have to admit, I'm a little irritated. I do pay for nbaTV. Maybe it's time to cancel. No Monarchs ganes this year and now no summer league games. Stinks.

Yeah, alot of people still have internet that prohibits them from watching the game. This is garbage.

I don't know...this is from the official Kings.com media release on July 1st... if they don't show the webcast it is my suspicion that they were planning too but with the release of the NBA.com service they withdrew their original plans to show it for free.

Kings.com will provide comprehensive coverage of Summer League beginning July 8 and will webcast all five Kings games

Well folks I bought it......and......

Its crappy footage. decent size but very grainy.

Anthony Randolph is looking good early, nice jumper and a HUGE dunk.
