Mitchell's problem was that he wasn't pushing the pace. The whole game was slowing down with him on the floor. Ellis has consistently pushed the ball while he was in the game.

I’m still shaking my head Monte drafted him. We had Fox and Haliburton on the roster and we draft another point guard that also needs the ball in their hand to be successful.

players on the board we could have drafted:
Alperen Sengun
Trey Murphy
Moses Moody

I mean…isn’t it obvious?! Monte clearly doesn’t know how to draft or construct a roster. All kidding aside, I’m pretty sure he’s of the mindset BPA and he thought Mitchell was BPA. It’s always easy to look back at a draft after 2 or 3 years and say we should’ve drafted so and so. That’s why hindsight is 20/20.

I think is more being rigid in any approach is foolish. The Keegan draft may have proved Monte learns from his mistakes but drafting a point when you had Fox and Haliburton on the roster was ridiculous. Part of the problem as we saw with Hali blossoming in Indy is even if they are BPA they don’t have room to grow.

I’m pretty sure Monte viewed Murray as BPA. As far as Hali not blossoming, he was able to flip him for an all star, all nba center that opened up our offense that led to his other pg blossoming into an all star all nba player. The book on the Davion pick is not done being written.

They did, but I'm still not going to let go of the fact I think he had a set-back with his finger and couldn't feel/shoot the ball correctly. Even his handle was pretty loose and he was getting stripped way more than he usually does. Not to mention a bruised sternum from being curb-stomped and getting a black-eye throughout the series. Funny how he's playing like himself after a few months off to heal and get healthy.
.

Why so many can’t seem to grasp that Domas was playing at far less than 100% escapes me. I mean, anybody that watched the KINGS play over the entire season should have been able to easily recognize that Domas wasn’t the same player late in the season and during the postseason that he was for most the season.

People get on these guys when they don’t play through injuries, but when they do — they get criticized for not playing as if they had zero injuries. That’s probably why so many of them are unwilling to try to play through injuries they know will hinder their performance.

All anybody has to do is look at Domas’ performances against GSW and Kevon Looney so far this season, since he’s been healthy again, to see that last postseason was an anomaly and a direct result of his health at that time. He just wasn’t able to perform up to his usual level, but he still gave it his all.

Same goes for Swipa after his finger fracture. He wasn’t gonna let it keep him from playing, but it surely affected his performance thereafter.
