Kings @ Sonics Game Thread (early edition)

Ok, i'm gonna tell like it is.....

We are playing very bad defense, although atrocious might be a better word to use. The sonics' D is not much better but at least they are clogging the lanes and forcing us to take a bunch of outside shots. The sonics are exploiting us on defense by running a high pick n roll and driving right to the basket, for either a layup or a trip to the freethrow line. We are getting manhandled by a pair of scrubs (James, Evans) and "the thug". Defensively we look like a streetball team.

Offensively we look equally bad. We are not moving the ball well, we are not getting any easy shots because we are not passing well enough. Peja is invisible once again, Mike is playing better but not up to his standard.

Cat is a separate topic....it seems that Cat's brain still hasn't arrived from sacramento .

Miller is giving us all he could, you can see how badly that broken leg is affecting him, he is limping out there. I'm scared that he will only further injure his leg :(

Either team will get bounced in the second round..... I'm afraid the Kings won't even get there.

You can blame anybody but yourself when you got owned, right? I think that guy is humble, maybe is just me.

it just annoys and frustrates me at how the kings are letting him dominate. putting corliss on him, that was briliant. he had like a 6 inch height advantage.

i'm just frustrated right now, so a lot of this is me venting. i will try to keep it in check.

i now very much miss king's passing ability. haven't seen much of that in this series.
i gueses it's kinda hard to do it without vlade, doug and chris. the new guys that just joined this year seems to be suprised by the ball when it's tossed to them.

they need to start playing team basketball again. they thrive at that. we have never been a one man team and never will be.

Kings = missed opportunities.

Just when we get a bit of daylight, the Kings make some mistake or turnover to thwart their efforts at a comeback. I'm starting to get used to it :(

Seattle is pretty impressive. They've got all kinds of energy, and we are really horrible and defending the pick and roll. No answer for Jerome James either.

Let's see what happens in the second half, but I'm just not seeing any life out there.

You don't like Mike Bibby, I guess I should know by now.

Why anyone would not like the best player on the team, the one who hits the most clutch shots and has basically carried the team this year is beyond me.

i heard bibby shut charles down..but idn what exactly happened....anyone wanna telll hehe
A year or so ago after another big game by Mike they had the tele-confrence interview and Charles started to tell Mike what the Kings needed to do to win a championship and Mike said "What do you know about winning a championship?"

I hate Cuttino's one on one play. We have all those offensive weapons and he is out there like he's Michael Jordan instead of passing the ball. We actually could have had some momentum swinging our way. The way he played I do not know why he was out there. I don't believe we have the luxury of waiting for him to make a few shots in the fourth quarter, that is not enough to get it done and it's not like his defense was doing anything for us. I heard the announcers call him out on his defense no less than four times.. geez.. But it is not like he is the only one stinking up the court. It was good to see Bibby make some big shots, I hope he comes out and really lights it up the second half. And Peja, HELLO, we need you to step up BIG.

GOOOOOOOOOOO KINGS!!! I still BELIEVE!!!
This is a good post^, and this is the point, Doug is looking pretty nice right now, Be nice to slow down Ray about now(or at least make hime work) huh? Plus with Chris gone we need Peja to be aggressive show he is the best player on the team(cuz he is) and to come through, I only hope he can.

nice...thanks :)

Hope to see brad rebound the ball more, he only has 1. Peja on the other hand, suprisingly has 7 already :D Now if he could only get hot!

That's pretty much our own problem, isn't it? So you are annoyed by Jerome James or by us?

Has Mobley done any better on Allen? Seems to me that Ray or anyone else is having a pretty easy time getting to the basket no matter who on the Kings is guarding them.

Stop signaling out Bibby for his defense. There is hardly any D being played by any on the Kings, other than maybe Tag which is mostly b/c of his size.

Bibby's offensive contributions more than outweigh any deficiencies on defense, what do you think RA should do; bench Bibby for awhile so House can get minutes?

I don't expect things from Mobley that I expect from Bibby. I would never compare these two.

According to the score in the first half, generally Kings offense is down by 11 (only) Mike Bibby is the head of the offense eventhough Mobley looks more like he is trying to be one which is a disaster

i think peja has been more aggressive over the past month or so in compairson to earlier this season, but that's not nearly Enough!!!
like someone has already pointed out, this is the playoffs. we have several all star players, they need to start acting like one.

That is BS but I guess I should know that by now
10 pts, 7 assists, and the guy(s) he's D'ing up on can't score, but your right Bibby is killing us, --this whole post is B.S. btw.

yeah i see the same thing... they should feed the ball to peja, giving him more chance to shoot

Good point, but who knows how well Doug's foot would be holding up right now or if he'd even be able to play at all considering his plantar fascitis.

They all need to get at least warm. It's not like we have one person to blame, nobody's playing well. Where's the heart and intensity we're known for??

Umm folks this Kings team has NEVER played together before game one. RA has no clue what he ahs or what to do with it. (No complaints about RA jsut pointing out that most other coaches ahve had all year to experiment with the line ups. Half the paly off roster was not on the team last season and 5 of them were not on the team in the first third of the season. What do you expect form them? Seamsless exicution?

Bibby is outplaying Mobley on one good ankle, he needs some help. It would be nice if his teammates would catch some of those good passes he made.
