Was watching ESPN last night in hopes of some Kings highlights and got nothing. What I did notice was a breakdown of the 1st round pick rookie's performances. Stats shown from Granger, Warrick, May, etc etc. Garcia had the third highest points yet he got no recognition, whats the deal?

1. Garcia, despite some points, hasn't really done that much yet to merit a lot of media hype.
2. Regardless of #1, it's BSPN. Are you really expecting any love from them???

;)

Good keep him under the radar, better for us.

definitely, if one of the two "rookies" on the kings (since one actually is a sophomore this year) actually pans out and starts averaging respectable numbers and making an impact, it will be funny to see the media say "where did this guy come from?"

You're making a basic conceptual mistake, Netguy115. BSPN will totally ignore someone in a Kings' uniform, regardless of the numbers they start putting up.

;)

I remember this conversation last year. Kings get no press, but that's alright. When we finished in the top 3 in the Western Conference, let them talk then.

That was kind of the point. These other rookies had some not so good numbers, yet they were still mentioned. Guess that goes with your point #2.

Netguy115 - This particular thread is about a lack of mention on BSPN. So, in this case, "the media" in question would have to make a 180 degree turnaround to start reporting Kings high points ...

sanity - Precisely.

i watched the full hour of sportscenter and saw every nba game besides the kings. woohoo. at least i had some decent beer during the hour.

It would really make me angry to watch Sports Center and see next to nothing on the Kings. Even then, they were usually a footnote. If a King makes a really splashy dunk, they'll be on Sports Center. They are idiots for dunks. Incredible passes? Amazingly sweet jumpers? Dazzling crossovers? Forget it. West coast teams, other than Lakers (no matter how bad they suck)? Forget it. Altho with a really atheletic team, I expect to see Warrior highlights more often.

Well, if not the players, then you'd most likely see the "dance team" in their solid gold lame outfits.

;)

Well I was watching NBATV Daily this morning and Gary Apple noted Garcia's good play for the second straight game...so NBATV has noticed

Quite honestly I didn't expect alot of hype surrounding Garcia no matter what he does...if you're not a lottery pick you're probably gonna get no mention (especially on ESPN)

If the Kings were to move to Vegas, you'd see them on ESPN everyday.
Exactly Kings are ignored all over the place. They are very underrated in NBA Live 2006 with a rating of only 81 while L.A Lakers has 78 or something around there. What Gives???

And this is why I will only be able to watch very few Kings game this year. They are not expected to be anything great this year by many people. But you know, I prefer it this way. We expected too much when they were good, not just good, great. Now that the world had shifted their eyes, we will be the suprise, and anything good will be great.

What's quite weird and coincidental, as I was reading this thread... is I just saw on the news there's a bad guy being hunted named "Francisco Garcia".
