Its my opinion that if the Kings are going to make a trade, they need to go after an impact player. One team that might be willing to give up such a player is the Bobcats. They're currently 8 games out of first place with a 7 and 12 record. They're also sitting there with 66 million in total salaries. Considerably over the cap. So in trying to keep it simple stupid as they say, here's my proposal..
Kings trade: Carl Landry, 27 yr's old, current salary $3,000,000.00. Omri Casspi, 22 yrs old, current salary $1, 254, 480.00. 1st rd draft pick, top 5 protected.
Kings recieve: Gerald Wallace, 28 yr's old, current salary $9,862,500.00, with two more years remaining.
Charlotte trades: Gerald Wallace.
Charlotte recieves: Jordan Hill, 23 yrs old, current salary $2,669,520.00. Omri Casspi, and 1st round pick from the Kings.
Houston trades: Jordan Hill.
Houston recieves: Carl Landry.
Obviously this is a no brainer for both the Kings and the Rockets. The Bobcats give up a very good player, but gain three young prospects if you count the draft pick and also get significant cap relief. The main problem for the Bobcats is that their trading just one player and getting back two. So the trade could be tweeked by the Kings taking on an additional player as long as the contract is not very long or very big.
I don't know if the Bobcats would go for it, but right now they're going nowhere, and have a team thats made up of a lot of players that are mostly complimentry type players. So a step back and reload might be in order for them.
