No, that's bull****.
He's given starter's minutes to journeymen during his entire tenure. He doesn't understand that in order to succeed, you have to follow the hierarchy. Starters play starter's minutes, unless they are no longer starters. One of the reasons people foolishly believe Evans isn't a star is because they don't see what he can do given even 30 minutes a game. 30 goddamn minutes.
With few games left, you absolutely want your stars feeling confident about the offseason. Logging heavy minutes knowing that they're earning a break is the right thing to do. It sucks that Jimmer didn't get his chance to develop this year, for your sake, so I know you were excited to see him play, but moving this team forward falls on Evans and Cousins, not IT, certainly not ****ing Outlaw.
What really pisses me off is that as flawed as this team was, there was potential for quite a bit of growth, but Smart decided to try and kumbayah his way to equality even though everyone knows a pecking order needs to exist for success. A wise man once said, "know your role and shut your mouth." Had we a competent coach, we would have had roles. We would have had structure. We would have had growth.
He pulled the same crap in golden state. I'll toast his departure heavily. Glad to see his smallball crap, playing 12th man like star player bull**** out of here.
Mods, let me know if I've overstepped my bounds. If not, I've got some more that I've been holding back. I already edited this thrice.
