He’s just not a NBA player right now. He could be eventually but honestly we could go to the gleague and find a guard that gives us better minutes regularly than him. Hoping we address this at the deadline.

I mean this just isn't true at all. Metrics are too favorable for this to even being close to correct. He's a truly elite defensive guard, but potentially one of the worst offensive guards in the league getting NBA minutes. Perfectly fine for a 10-15 MPG role as a defensive sub, but he's not ready to take on a major minutes role. At least not in Browns system for the time being.

I wasn’t able to watch or listen to this one. I saw we got close a bunch. Was Indy playing good defense or were we just off? Don’t understand 13 shots from Domas or 6 from Keegan. I see TD took a fair amount of the shots

Both teams started off very slow in the first quarter. Without Fox, the offense was clearly out of sync and could not get the ball inside to Sabonis. At halftime, the Kings had shot 23 of 46 field goal attempts from deep, making only a handful. All the starters were in negative numbers for +-. Meanwhile, the Pacers started to hit from outside.

In the second half, the bench players began to get thing moving, including Terence Davis and Chimezie Metu. Sacramento outscored the Pacers in both the third and fourth quarters, but were not quite able to tie it up or take a lead. Monk took over from Mitchell at point guard (Dellavedova stayed on the bench the entire half) and helped orchestrate the runs you mention, but he forced a pass from the left corner to Sabonis with less than a minute to play, when the game was still in question. Afterwards, he told Sabonis it was all his fault.

It was good to see all the Pacer coaches and staff congratulating Domantas for making the All-Star team.

It's tough to get anywhere at this level as a defensive specialist point guard, when your offensive game is not that good. Now, apparently they're considering bringing in a wing who has the same issue, in Matisse Thybulle.

Davion took only one shot inside the 3pt line and Keegan took two. Neither guy got to the line once. Both of them are capable of scoring and I hope they understand that their unwillingness to shoot (passing up easy shots for tougher ones, using up the shot clock, not working to get themselves open) is forcing the other 3 players on the floor to pick up their slack. Keegan is a rookie and Davion is suffering through a Sophomore slump -- I think both guys are just in their heads too much right now. We just need one of them to show up tonight and we win this game but it is what it is. Hopefully they do what they need to do to be more prepared for the next one.

Difference is that Thybulle is a wing who isn't expected to handle the offense like a point guard like Davion is. Thybulle is also a very good help defender/surprisingly solid weak side shot blocker. Also shooting 40% on C&S threes.

Yeah, I'm not in favor of a trade for him.

I mean, it's why the Kings lost. The two of them did were not aggressive when they need to be. 3 point game. A couple buckets from either and its a solid win.

Road Keegan is still not nearly as comfy as Home Keegan, a 'normal' game from him and I think this game turns out differently. I love that Mike Brown post game clip, he's the real deal. Instantly made me feel better about the game. Hopefully we can get 2 dubs in Htown

I think it deserves to be pointed out that if Davion Mitchell was even halfway decent tonight we win this game..

If this was treated like some audition for a bigger role, tonight would've been objectively a big failure nomatter how you spin it..

How could you rule out us drafting a PG... ? We're not gonna possibly select a PG in the first round --- because we have Davion Mitchell here? I'm not sure if I trust him that much..

N I've been a fan of Davion since HS.. It's just a matter of is this player really the ideal fit here?

Cason Wallace would look really nice in a Kings jersey. Just sayin'

Pels have lost 10 straight so if we can take can of business we can finish this road trip 5–2. We badly need these next 3 games since those are immediately followed by dates with Dallas Pho and Pdx, a critical stretch run that might determine if we hold on to playoff seeding or fade back into the pack

I mean I guess he could carve out a Patrick Beverly type of career but a lot of the reason why Beverly has managed to stick around is his leadership ability. I’m not sure if that is Davions personality. Rooting for him as a Baylor alumni but I haven’t been a fan of what I’ve seen.

Or we could honestly just go all offense n take Jalen Hood-Schifino, n if we can pair that with a lockdown defensive wing such as Thybulle who can switch to PG's you'd have lots of what we hoped to get from Davion covered... N I'd be a bit more confident in consistent offense from the bench tbh.

Mitchell has shot 20 ft's in almost 1,000 minutes on the floor this season, thats flat out unacceptable in my book.

If we can manage to get a devastatingly good backup PG, that will do wonders for this team.. wish it was davion but he honestly hasnt shown enough for us to put all the eggs in that basket..

Kinda wish we had taken Corey Kispert... The Kings didnt actually have great options at 9 when you look at redraft scenarios, I felt Kispert had a strong case here for the pick at the time tbh, still do.

Davion's contract makes it so we can keep him here even in a 3rd string capacity.. I think maybe getting another good young PG n letting them have an open competition might be a good idea for all parties involved.

The idea that we wouldnt take fliers on PG's like Eric Gaines in the 2nd rd cuz of Davion, that just seems completely backwards to me

Makes me appreciate even more what my guy Bobby Jackson was able to do at about the same size. Real impact on both sides of the ball off the bench.

I’d say the KINGS lost because Malik started throwing the ball up for grabs the last 2 minutes.

The game was there for the taking, but too many errant passes and bad decisions late.

As someone who was a big fan of drafting Mitchell, I agree with you. What happened to the confident scorer we saw at Baylor? It seems like he's lost confidence in himself. That 3pt shot is also somehow worse than the 33.6% suggests. Very timid and never looks to shoot even when he's wide open. Our offense has been so high scoring that it's been easy to overlook his regressions, but I think he has to give you more than just solid/good defense when he's out there on the floor.

I see him eventually figuring out his 3pt shot, but it'll take a couple more years before he gets in the 35% range.

Looking at the play-by-play for the last three minutes, Miles Turner blocked both Lyles and Monk. The latter shot was well made, but Turner got it just before the top of the arc. Both Lyles and Monk threw one bad pass for a turnover. The last possession, Harrison Barnes had a corner three to tie the game, but he rushed it; I think the Pacers' defense forced the Kings into a tight spot, rather than guys making bad decisions.

The NBA line 3 feet longer than NCAA basketball line. The Big 12 conference is a top league but nowhere near talent and speed of NBA level. Davion Mitchell now reached above his level and certainly not growing any taller. I say trade him by Feb. 9 if deal offered right for the Kings. And especially since Kings now have much better option at backup 1 or 2 in Malik Monk.

Mitchell/Holmes/Lyles/2nds for Jovic/Martin or Struss/filler most likely Dedmon sadly), Heat need a back up C and PG (Lowry will get traded/has been a complete joke) and PF. Kings can sign Kris Dunn from the G-League if they move Mitchell.

Would the Kings eat Duncan Robinson terrible contract and hope he returns to form if they can get Cody Martin or Victor/Jovic for Mitchell/Holmes/Lyles/Filler?

Davion isn't a complete player but I've seen multiple games where his defence has given us, an otherwise inept defensive team, a fighting chance/ a win. It would be great if we had a backup point guard that could replicate his defence, hit their shots, get to the line, and be tall, but you know, that player is kind of hard to get.

We played a motivated team, on the road, without Fox, and lost it on the last possession. It's disappointing but doesn't mean we can't move forward with Davion.

This team is regressing.

Opposing teams are attacking closeouts and perimeter defenders like they are not there. Rebounding is atrocious (beyond Sabonis) and our playmaking with Fox out is JV.

Monk lost us this game.
The team is not getting Keegan in position to contribute if he's not open for 3.
Barnes was very winded at the end of the game.

We have needed a shot in the arm defensively and people are saying we need Collins and McBucketts. What game are you (or aren't you) watching?

We’ve had the second best net rating in the league over the last ten games so maybe step off the ledge?
