Kings Notes: Kings are divided - over that NFL game

PORTLAND, Ore. - Kings reserve forward Matt Barnes has specific plans for today's Super Bowl. "I've got the (Philadelphia) Eagles, and I'm going to go to (Brad Miller's) house and win a lot of money," Barnes said before Saturday night's game. "Or I could lose a lot of money, too, huh?"
http://ads.sacbee.com/RealMedia/ads...l/64313865323634663432303536373430?_RM_EMPTY_ Most of the Kings seem to be like most football fans in believing the New England Patriots will win their third Super Bowl in four seasons.
"The Belichicks - what, are you kidding?" said Kings forward Chris Webber of the Patriots, who are coached by Bill Belichick, the latest sports genius.
Then there is Philadelphia native Cuttino Mobley.
"You know who I'm with," Mobley said.
Eddie House is a native of Berkeley and longtime admirer of former 49ers quarterback Joe Montana. A lifelong Raiders fan, House predicts the Patriots will win.
"Tom Brady is just like Montana," House said. "He's the closest thing to Montana."
Michael Bradley grew up in Massachusetts approximately 45 minutes from Foxboro, where the Patriots play.
"I always wanted to play football," Bradley said, "but my parents wouldn't let me. I was 6-(foot)-10 when I was a sophomore. I stayed that height, though.
"I used to go to their training camp every summer with my brother and father. There were a lot of down years back then. More down than up."
Darius Songaila of Lithuania said he couldn't care less who wins the Super Bowl.
"Last year, I cared because Carolina was in it," said Songaila, who attended Wake Forest in Winston-Salem, N.C. "This year, who cares?"
Evans padded up - Maurice Evans still has a visible scar on his head from the scary fall he took Jan. 13 at Arco Arena against the Utah Jazz when met in the air by Carlos Boozer and Kirk Snyder.
However, he said the hairline fracture in one of the ribs on his left side still is painful and troubling.
So Evans wears a lightweight, skin-tight vest with a pad on the left side to protect the rib.
"It was aching midway through the game," Evans said, referring to Friday night's contest against the New York Knicks. "The doctors said it's going to take about six weeks to fully heal."
