[Game] Kings @ Nets - 2/5/16 - 4:30 PT, 7:30 ET

Bobby doesn't think the players are responding to Karl at all. Says players aren't playing with effort at all.

He said they need to either A) Change the players or B) Change the coaches

Bobby says the Kings aren't playing with urgency.

Imagine how cool it would be seeing the 7ft serbian storming on the court, pointing and yelling at Karl "you out!!". Then fishing his phone out of his suit and we see him call someone. "Yo, Thibs, I'm going to make you an offer you can't refuse":D

Vlade: Okay, everybody. Get on the bus so we can get to the airport... Not so fast, George.

Even bobby is saying it.
"it's probably best to part ways and figure out what your next plan of attack is gonna be. Cause that performance, that performance was the worst of the year."

To add even more insult to injury, Nets wins help the Lakers keep their pick....

Just pathetic really. I don't know what the hell is wrong with everyone on this 7 game stretch aside from Boogie and a few random efforts from a couple other guys, but this team looks like it's flat out given up. Just no effort to play defense whatsoever.

I'm ready to try Seth Curry. Or really anyone who gives a crap about playing.

Rondo has played decent enough defense with Boston (yes they had other guys, but it was the team defense that made them. Saw them live in '08 when they won the chip when they came to sac, amazing team defense and made me want Thibs).
Marco played decent ball with the Spurs, and nobody plays if they can't play some defense under Pop.
Collison was an above-average defender with the hornets, clippers, and pacers, but hasn't ever been consistent enough on both ends to merit starting.

Overall the biggest defensive liabilities have proven otherwise on teams not named the Kings.

Rondo was a pretty good defender in Boston, but he was overrated because their team defense was outstanding. KG was an absolute monster in help defense and as a rim protector.

Belli has never been a good defender, even with the Spurs, but they were able to hide him in their scheme. Similar to what they've done with Parker for 15 years, who was only an average defender in his best days.

The word on the street is you can rest your starters and beat the Kings with the end of your bench and possibly your mascot, an usher and a popcorn vendor.
Lol.....seems like even you have reached the end of your optimism....

The kings don't fight through screens. They switch. and switch. and switch.......

Too much switching, but that doesn't change that the guards on this team do not fight through screens. It's been going on all year.

I'll leave it though as people seem to want to put this all on Karl, which is fine. Just don't let ownership or Vlade off the hook. This will be the tenth coach in as many years, some issue are greater then scheme like who's in charging of hiring the coach in the first place for instance.

I am angrier than I have ever been. This is MY TEAM. I've invested over 30 years of my life into being a Kings fan. I love this team. It's in my DNA, and that of my daughter, and my granddaughters. This is not something we take lightly.

George Karl needs to be left in Brooklyn to find his own way home...and to the unemployment office.

Rondo just doesn't try on defense anymore.

This is what he seriously does:
Gambles passing lane, tries to swipe ball away, and constantly slides down. He also doesn't fight over screens. Once his man gets passed him, he just gives up on the play.

Rondo-Belinelli are our worst defenders on the team. No doubt about it.

Bobby just is saying it like it is. He started by being PC to the organization but by the end he was calling for a coaching change. He even said he could coach the team and he'd focus on defense; he wouldn't even coach offense. That makes sense considering where we are in the season.

I don't think it is often that a TV personality is so candid especially when he is criticizing the team that pays him.

I said earlier that a blow up was coming. I also said it couldn't be by Boogie or Rondo with the idea that kind of blow up could be ignored. This blow up came from Bobby.

Bravo, my man!!!

I am sorry to say that Karl's demeanor doesn't help and that goes along with the fact he isn't coaching the team correctly. Perhaps he could be a tad introspective and decide that the best thing is that he negotiate a buy out package. This might be wise if we get Thibs or not. The team is off the grid.

**** you, young lady. They are my team. :)

That's a joke in order to be sure we are friends.

I've let Vivek have it on many a post. Karl was his hire. Even PDA saw through the guy. Now, in Vivek's defense....Karl won COY the final year of his gig in Denver (and was canned), and I myself was excited to have the guy. So... Easy mistake to make on Vivek's part.

One does wonder how much meddling "the irritant" is still up to though.... Hopefully he's chilled out, but I doubt it. More likely, he's just more media savvy.

As far as our GM goes, I dont really want to put too much blame on Vlade. I still think he did a bang up job this summer with what he had available. He got us Rondo, drafted a future stud (injuries permitting) in WCS, picked up KK and Marco (solid signings at the time, nobody could have guessed how awful Marco would be), didn't trade Boogie to the Lakers...

I think if Vlade gets to pick us a coach, he'll make the right choice. But that is just my eternal optimism speaking.

Don't forget that he also called out the players for not playing with effort. They're not playing with any pride. He basically said they're dumb as hell on defense too.

Do the Kings get to keep their draft pick if it's in the top 10?

The long answer is yes, we keep our pick as long as it's 1-10 however if the lottery causes us to move up above the Sixers own pick (not the top 3 protected pick they get from the Lakers) than they have the right to swap picks with us, so they would get our pick and we would get there's. If we fall below #10 than the pick goes to Chicago and (as I understand it) the "right to swap" for Philly is nullified because they made that arrangement with us, not with Chicago.

Christie has done the same. Just not as out there as bobby was.
I think it's common sense. He didn't want to play WCS. Injuries forced his hand. He refuses to bench bellineli, no matter how bad he plays. He won't play curry, even after he said he's our best perimeter defender. His substitutions are huge head scratchers. What else am I missing?

Yes, but his message evolved. It is the correct thing to blame the players. It is not proper to blame the coach. Hell, put Bobby in as coach and see what happens. :) That would get us to the end of the season and I'd have Bobby's back. Let us have the first team with a female head coach. ANYTHING!!! I trust Vlade but I think we have run to the end of the string. Play three more on the road and come home to a different head coach.

PLEASE!!!!!

I have been relatively positive until right now. The dam has burst.

Absolutely worth taking a look at Vlade's moves, because other than WCS, none of them have really worked out.

- Mortgaged the future to sign Koufos, who's been okay, but is stuck behind our franchise player for minutes and Belli, who's flat out been a bust through 50 games.

-Rondo, who's been better on offense than I thought he could be, but is an absolute liability defensively. Just doesn't have anything left on that end of the floor.

-And a lot of talk on Karl being the master villain here, which might be true, but Vlade also signed off on him in the off-season when he didn't go find his own coach. Perhaps his hands were tied with Vivek, but he had every opportunity he could have wanted to can him with all the Cousins-Karl rumors that went on this summer. Easy out there and didn't take it.

I'll say it just once more and then just quit trying.

Vivek turned the reins over to Vlade. He is NOT trying to control the team. I've asked this of a whole bunch of people at different levels and the answer is always the same. Vivek learned his lesson and when Vlade was brought on board it was with the understanding that he (Vivek) would let Vlade do his job.

I trust the people I asked. If you don't trust me, that's fine, but I'm telling you Vivek is not meddling in Vlade's affairs.
