something to consider, looking over the last ten years of the draft, all-star players have been drafted past the top 5, just to name a few; Steph at 7, Kawhi at 14, Donovan at 13, Butler 30, Giannis at 15, George at 10, Lillard at 6, Boogie at 5 and then you look at some of the teams that have traded for a star player with their young assets; Boston for Kyrie, Rockets for Harden, Pacers for Oladipo (not a star yet but he's made strides), Spurs for Kawhi.

With that said, there isn't one way to attain a star player, and when you are a small market, you need to look at all the options out and not just get lucky in the draft since they haven't been doing that anyway since Boogie dropped to them at 5. Who knows when that next player will fall to the Kings again with that much upside and talent. The GM needs to find any and which way to acquire a star or two if he has all this youth stockpiling if they feel what they don't have that player on the roster, its time to hit the phones.
