Kings/Hawks

Dime Dropper

All-Star
Bibby and Price (re-signed) to the Hawks for Lue, Claxton and Wright, and 1st rounder.
I know it sounds bad, but draft best big available or Julian Wright (superstar potential) with out pick, and someone like Conley with Atlantas pick. Re-building already in place with three promising youngster in Wright, Martin and Conley. Also a possible surprise youngser or at very least solid bench players in Williams, Garcia and Douby.

We would be very bad no doubt the next year, get a top 2/3 pick and pick Beasley! Then contenders in 4/5 years! :) :) ;)

I'd say go out and get Anthony Johnson instead of Claxton and cut Price out of the deal.

The only way the Kings have a hope of getting that pick is by swallowing Claxton's contract. As it stands I'm still not sure Atlanta would go for it -- that pick is a lot for them to give up for Bibby.

Id we take Conley at 10, then they'd have to settle for Law...I'm not sure what they think of Law or Bibby, but they could probably decide between the two.

I'm totally sure that Atlanta wouldn't go for it. If they win in the lottery, they have a top 3 pick, and they'd be nuts to trade it. If they don't, they're #4, and their pick (top 3 protected) already belongs to Phoenix from the Joe Johnson trade. So, sorry to be the bearer of bad tidings, but this one isn't possible.

No, Atlanta also has Indianas pick, which is no.11, one behind us. That's the pick I'm talking about (my fault for not saying it above). Sorry for being unclear. :o

Plus, the Suns have Atlanta's pick, and get to use it if it doesnt go in the top three.

I like the idea of the trade though.

Ah! OK... yeah, that one would be a lot easier for them to part with.

Since they're historically a cheaply (and badly) run team, who pick badly in the lottery, yet manage to keep going just by having so many picks, it seems unlikely to me that they'd trade one away for vets, particularly in light of the way they got shafted last time they traded picks for a vet. And the trauma of that trade just about ripped their organization apart. But you never know.

Yeah, don't think they would. However, a situation could happen that would be good for everyone! If Atlanta get a top 3 pick it's theirs to keep (this is the first good thing, Suns don't get it), two, it would make that no.11 alot less valuable to them and they may want to add a good PG to pair with Oden/Durant (if they get top 2). Could happen! We can always hope!

Best case scenario, no doubt, but also an extremely unlikely one. I'd put everything I own on it not happening. But there is a relatively high chance of Atlanta getting a top 3 pick. They may then be willing to move their other pick. But then again they may want to draft someone like Conley with their 11 to match up with Oden/Durant/Wright and J Smith. They already have a good young core, imagine what they will be like with a top pick in this draft and a promising young PG. Scary!

They can't get Conley if we draft him at 10...
