Kings Fan’s TV Show Draft! - Round 20

Wow, the dramas are really all snatched up. Nice drafting everyone. Ryanandtv, I'm guessing with my two picks whatever you were contemplating will be safe. Unless I'm just totally missing something...

Da Ali G Show - HBO (2003-2004)
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0367274/

Too few episodes were made of this show, but each is of such quality that I feel I can make the pick here. The shows are all better than each of his movies (Borat is the only that comes close) the situations he gets in this show as Ali G in the UN building or as Borat at a high class dinner (even better than the scene in Borat) are totally outrageous. Booyakasha.

And...maybe another reach here, but I love this show and gotta have it.

The Soup with Joel McHale (2004-present)
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0421460/

The entirely better reincarnation of Talk Soup, this is the only celebrity gossip show that I can not only tolerate but that I find a necessary watch every week. McHale always finds a way of finding the most ridiculous things on TV and making them even sillier than they already are. I can't wait for his new show on NBC.

Oh, I think you are :D. But I digress, it seems as though what I was contemplating should be safe for a while. I will probably even get all cocky and wait until three rounds from now to get it.

Pity, I so badly wanted to use this:

Great pick, Jespher! Have you seen the spoof of BTM with Hans and Franz from SNL? Priceless...
They also did a short one with Chris Kattan as John Oates:

John Oates: You might--you might remember this one. (sings) "Private eyes, (claps) they're watching you. (claps twice)" That was all me. The clapping part. I wasn't actually the one who uh, clapped, but um, it was my idea. To clap. [Hall & Oates' "Maneater" starts to play] I didn't really sing, or play guitar that well. So. (pause) I'm Oates.

MassachusettsKingsfan has timed out (18-hour clock). He has 24 hours to make up the pick or it will be forfeited.

Kingsgirl4 is now on the clock. PM Sent :).

Ok, I have decided to go a different route for this round. Up until now, I have picked shows that I have seen before and would enjoy watching again, or shows that I enjoy and am looking forward to new episodes. But, I am going to go out on a limb here. My next pick is a classic. I haven't seen very many episodes, maybe a few here and there late at night. With 268 episodes and hosted by "Hollywoods Master of Suspense" I figured I can not go wrong here. This show alone will keep me well occupied on the Island! :p

Memo to Kingsgirl4:

I have your birth certificate in my hands...along with a bottle of wite-out. Congratulations. Your new middle name is "JerkyMcJerk"

Very nice pick and one that was on my short list.

Though my next pick would likely be safe for forever, I have a sick obsession with this show and would be inappropriately sad if I missed out.

Here it comes...

Walking down the street...

Hey, hey!

The Monkees
- NBC (1966-1968)
-- No. I'm not joking.

My bad. I hate the over night time-out .. oh well.. my next selection is Hells Kitchen ( 2005 - Present )

Obviously Gordon makes the show what it is .. The Simon Cowell of cooking. A nice change of pace considering what the rest of my island is full of.

I have to continue to ignore my brother's plea, I just noticed a hole in my programming schedule I must fill: I need a side-splitting killer Sitcom.

All in the family (1971-1979)
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0066626/

Now I have to deal with Archie Bunker opening his bigotted mouth. Good times. Good times.

Pimp My Ride (2004-Present)

I loved watching this show. How else would you go from this:

To this!

In all seriousness, however, the part that impressed me most were the paint jobs.

OMG!!!! LMAO!!!! Spike, you can not use the Vlade Mobile in this draft either!!!!!!!:p I was secretly hoping this pic would somehow make an appearance though!!!!

I'm a bit surprised this one is still here. Honestly, someone has to take it...might as well be me.

SURVIVOR (2000-present)

While the show may lose some of its luster from season to season, it still is one of the most influential reality shows of all time. I'm a big lover of tropical ecology, too, so the locations are always cool to see.
