Kings corner: Winning streak would be a nice present
DIARY WITH CORLISS WILLIAMSON
Published 2:15 am PST Sunday, December 25, 2005

Ho, ho, ho. Merry Christmas to all!

The first thing I'm going to do on Christmas is look under my tree and check my stockings to see if there is a five-game winning streak I can use at any time. And the time is now.

I'm glad to be back home after that long road trip. We played hard and well against San Antonio and Detroit, but that last game in Charlotte is one where we couldn't find the energy and effort to win. We had it against the Spurs and Pistons but didn't have it against Charlotte.

(The Bobcats) had guys out because of injuries, and we should have won that game. We lost Bonzi (Wells) and Peja (Stojakovic), and really there is nothing else to do except that it's time to man up. You have two of your top players down, and it's up to everybody to step up and make up for their absences. You feel badly for Peja and Bonzi.

We don't have time to do anything else, because we've definitely (let) some games (get) away either with a lack of effort or energy. It's going to be a dogfight for us to get into the playoffs, but sometimes you need a reality check, and we certainly have had that. I hope we learn from it and figure out how to go into the opposite direction.

Why or why Rick, is he not getting anymore playing time? Corliss is the player we need on the floor especially now.

Yeah, I've been saying this forever...but Rick is Rick, and he's stuck in his ways. As soon as Peja and Bonzi are back, its back to 'DNPCD' for Corliss, unfortunately.

i agree, i think if corliss became the backup smallforward the kings would be a much better team. because fransisco is in his first year and he make to many mistakes. hes a good player but hes not ready for the NBA yet. also i think they should change the offense because this is a different team.

The offense has changed. Our recent games prove that. The offense doesn't look ANYTHING like what we've run in recent years.

People REALLY need to get over the idea that the Princeton offense is cast in stone and is the only type of offense the Kings run. Right now, it isn't the type of offense that's the problem. Adelman addressed this pretty clearly a couple of weeks ago when he said it doesn't matter what offense you're trying to run if the players don't do what they're supposed to be doing.
