[KINGS] Comments that don't warrant their own thread (Redux)

Zion is literally not allowed to play b2bs because his team is afraid his legs will fall off. Maybe he’ll stay healthy but the Kings shouldn’t be the ones to make that gamble without asking for much more in return.
I’ll take that gamble do we want to contend or we’re just satisfied making the playoffs? If Zion is playing 50 regular season games and then the playoffs I’d careless about back to back. Plus it would give Keegan a chance to take these girls on next step if Zion if sitting

He also said he could play but he’s following what NO wants

Had a bit of a shower thought but does anyone believe that if Ham or Cunningham had anything even remotely credible that could burn down Vivek or this FO they wouldn't run with it?

For that matter I think we know Amick was given this info too and in what can only be described as an anti-Kings hit piece on Friday he decided it wasn't fit to print?

The entire news game revolves around who can report first, if you get it wrong apologize later. That's a big part of why this country sucks right now.

anyways game on.

Absolutely no way in H-E-Double Hockey Sticks would I EVER consider entertaining the idea of giving up our best big man AND first round picks for an injury-prone Zion.

So, no thanks.
Sabonis isn’t a star Zion is but we can keep going the way we are and stay as play-in contenders for the next half decade

How's that worked out for New Orleans so far?
Atleast there not in no man’s land with no light at the end of the tunnel

You may be confusing a light with the C-Train.

The only difference between the Pelicans' situation and the Kings' situation is that Pelicans fans may have deluded themselves into thinking they've got a chance.
They have Zion, Murphy, and a lottery pick this year argument can be made they’re in the better situation. Meanwhile we have to pay Keegan next year have an army of small guards and Monk won’t come off the bench even though he’s not a starter on a playoff team.

An "argument" could be made, sure, but not a convincing one. They're terrible, and they're going nowhere. Actually, it's worse than that. Not only are they going nowhere, they've got a star who's just good enough to give their fans false hope. Zion Williamson is the Charles Barkley of Joel Embiids.

Players get to Sac and stop giving a ****, and we're going after Zion?!

Dude would balloon up to 500lbs and maaaybe play 20% of games until his contract is up or he tragically dies of a heart attack (Kings era Zion is un-tradable, so that's not an outcome).

That's ignoring the fact that New Orleans has had six years to build a contender around Williamson, and they have exactly one more playoff appearance and the same number of playoff series wins as the Kings have in the same span of time.

But I'm sure that the Kings would make it work. I'm sure of it.

Surely he’d magically get healthy playing for the notoriously healthy and not snake-bitten at all Kings!

Crazy not wanting an all nba player that would be the best player we’ve had since boogie when our other option is to battle for the tenth seed for the next five years hilarious
And it'd work about as well as Cousins did, too. But y'all go ahead and trade for Williamson, and watch him be the centerpiece of a twelfth-place team. Because that would never happen to the Sacramento Kings, no sirree Bob!

Also, make up your mind, you keep talking out both sides of your mouth: "The Kings should go all-in on Zion. Also, the Kings should tank, right now." Is it Oochie Wally or is it One Mic?

This draft and next years draft was the time to do a full tank job
Yep. We would have been better off just getting all picks back versus tying up cap space for LaVine.

I would be excited about a team that resets and goes young. Keon and Keegan are fun to watch together on the floor and they will give you good effort in D every night.

Keep:
  • Keon
  • Keegan
  • LaRavia
  • LaVine (maybe? wouldn’t be opposed to moving him)
  • Isaac Jones
  • Carter (would like to see a bigger sample size of what we have with him)
Then try to get a C that is a rim protector and pick up young talent from trading away Domas, Monk, DDR, etc. Keep DC as coach.

A defense-first team that will give you chance every night that will push the pace and move the ball around. I think you could make a team just as competitive as this one, if not more, and you’d have a brighter future to build on.

Also, no more iso ball every possession. It’s not fun to watch the same few guys dribble the air out of the ball and almost every possession is 1 or 0

Would that be a good path forward? Or is Domas untouchable for most Kings fans?

I've already made my stance known on possibly acquiring Zion, so that eliminates that option.
I speak of a rebuild, should that be the chosen path.
This team as constructed isn't going anywhere. They'll likely back their way into a play-in spot this season, but the way they are playing now I can't see them advancing. More than that, they flat out aren't fun to watch. This sort of "your turn, my turn" iso ball is not only not successful, it's ugly, even when they manage to win games.

I'd love to see them build around Monk, Keegan, Keon, and Domas, but right now they lack the assets to really do that.

Right now I'm largely checked out as a fan, which is really disappointing since the Beam Team season was maybe my favorite season ever as a Kings fan.
